do you Really like scifi?

I saw where someone stated that there was a couple they never met in the back of there car. We wanted to make sure the kids got in the front to get the DL's. Will they do that since they knnow that is what we want? :confused3

We too I guess are in the minority because we really like Sci Fi. Last year was our first time and we really enjoyed it. My 2 older sons (ages 10 and 8) loved it.. This year my oldest son's only request was Sci Fi, so we will be doing it again. We just stick with simple fare.

The atmosphere is great but I have never enjoyed the food at Sci Fi. My husband likes it though. I also don't care for 50's Prime Time Cafe's food either.

We go there once each trip. It is a burger type place I think if you go thinking it's anything more you will be disappointed. The atmosphere is fun.

We've been to Sci-Fi a couple of times, but skipped it on our most recent visit. I like the atmosphere, but the food seems way average for the price.

I personally wish they'd show actual movies - even if just edited down 30-40 minute versions vs. the same previews/trailers. Or toss in a sci-fi based Disney cartoon. That's my only real complaint.

The atmosphere is what this place is all about. We had the burgers which were good, just good, not great for what you pay, but all in all very acceptable for us. I had the BLT soup which I can't stop thinking about! I just LOVED that soup ! Would we go back? Yep, for the BLT soup if not for anything else! :thumbsup2 You probably hit it on a very bad day. Some days it must be worse than others at the Sci-Fi :confused3 I just don't know why Disney doesn't fix the food here if this place gets so many complaints. I guess maybe b/c it's always filled and sometimes impossible to get seated here with just so-so food on the menu...imagine if most people actually liked the food here!!!! :crowded: :crowded: :teeth:

we always go to sci-fi on every trip - love the atmosphere, the cheesy movie trailers, eating in little cars!

we stick with burgers, fries, onion rings and those incredible cookies and cream shakes - a bit expensive, but hey, we're in disneyworld!

very relaxing to sit in a cool, dark, (somewhat) quiet restaurant after being in the park all day

I'd like some comments on the ribs at Sci-Fi. I know not to expect anything great, but are they actually BAD or are they just average? Also, will two Onion Rings appetizers and two plates of ribs feed one adult and two kids with decent appetites? I'm thinking it should be plenty of food, especially considering that we would also get desserts on the DDP.

My gang usually eats lunch at Scifi diner. So far we've eaten there 3 times and only had 1 complaint. My DH did not care for the bar-be-que ribs (they weren't cooked badly, he just did not like the sauce) but he told our server immediately and got his order changed quickly. I have heard that the food quality is not consistent but we stick to the basics at lunch. Hamburgers, fries etc. We probably go back because we get a hoot out of the theme. :rotfl2: Haven't eaten dinner there yet.

sorry for the double post gang.
Anyway, my dh had the ribs and didn't like them. They are "St. Louis style" which means the sauce has a coca-cola base. He did say they were tender not over cooked so that was a plus. I have 2 teenager sons who eat like linebackers (I'm always amazed at the dissers who say they can split a meal, that so never happens to me) and they were happy with the portions but we always have appertizers and some times desserts.

We ate there a couple of years ago and the food was pretty good. A bit overpriced, I thought, but my dh really enjoyed the ribs. Of course, the kids loved the atmosphere. I wish the seating was a little different because they sat in one seat and myself and dh in another. But, I guess that would take away from the whole "atmosphere". We're not planning on going back this time, because we are going to try 50's Prime time Cafe for the first time!

We love Sci-Fi! My DH always gets the burger and fries and I'm partial to the onion rings and salad with the house dressing. We've been there 3 times in 2 years and had great service each time. It's already on our schedule for our Christmas trip this year--just waiting to make the ADRs.

SCI FI for 12 years now , sometimes 2 or 3 times a year its our families favorite place to eat. :cool1:

We all love the atmosphere of Sci-Fi, the food is ok but not great! Definitely do it at least once. We usually get burgers or Reuben's and a soda. Actually this is one of our cheaper sit down meals at Disney!

Nope, will never go back to Sci-Fi again! The service was horrible, and although our appetizers were fairly good, the entrees stunk!! My catfish was watery, the breading soggy.. they totally screwed up SO's chicken ceasar salad (forgot the chicken!) and never even apologized when it took them twenty minutes to bring out a new one (they threw a piece of grilled chicken on the same, now wilted ceasar salad they'd tried to bring out the first time).

Besides, it gets super boring watching the same flip loop after so long. I don't see the pull of Sci-Fi anymore at all!!

We ate there last Sept and I liked it enough. The atmosphere was fun and different. The food was tasty (again, we had the burgers, onion rings, etc) and our server was a LIFE SAVER. My 6 month old daughter was being such a pill, and I could hardly eat- she was very tired, cranky and I tried holding her, feeding her, etc...so when my burger came, the server swooped up DD and walked her around the restaurant so I could eat! He was a lifesaver and he got an extra tip (in addition to the DDP 18%) from me!

WE always eat lunch at Sci-Fi every time we're at the Disney Studio's. True the food isn't the most wonderful, but for your basic food, it's OK. Remember it's the atmosphere your paying for.

Ate there Saturday night, (two days ago). We had PS for 8:25. Arrived at 7, because I was starved. They sat us right away, not in a car, but in a LIMO!! We like it even though we weren't sitting straight toward the screen. It was still really cool. My dd's 12 & 10 absolutely loved it! It was the best meal they had. We had onion rings for starters ($6.99 for about eight). One dd had a cheeseburger & fries ($4.99). One dd had chicken nuggets & fries ($4.99). I had a burger and fries ($11.99). The girls also had milkshakes, chocolate & cookies & cream (3.49). They we wonderful. I really didn't like my burger that much. It was burned. I am really not a fan of pre-made burgers any way. I like the home made kind a lot better. But, we are paying for the atmosphere so I am not complaining at all. We had a great waitress also.

We have been to DW many times and this was our first time eating there. We will do it again next time. Probably just for the milkshakes and onion rings!!

I like lunch at Sci Fi. Dinner is just okay. And really we like Prime Time better anyway.
Really there are better places to eat. But it is fun the first few times.

It's a fun atmosphere. We go there not expecting a gourmet meal and figure that it will indeed be pricey for the food offered. I guess we've been lucky there in that we have never had bad service or burnt food. So all said, yes we like it there.
