Do you read VENT threads?

I avoid these threads like the plague! Too negative and whinny for me!

There are some people who are never happy no matter what. I also avoid the whine and complain threads. Too much of a bummer.

I like 'em when they're funny (or at least amusing to me!) so I usually read them. I must admit, I just posted a thread in which I call myself Whiney McWhinester so I'm just as guilty as the next poster. :teeth: Sometimes you just have to get it all off your chest.

sounds like your whiney and complaining about those same threads??? :rotfl2:

Brandy

Usually I skip them. I'm not a real "warm and fuzzy" type of person. Empathy is not a trait I am known to possess -- at least, not in very large quantities. I figure it's best to leave VENT threads alone.

To the OP: yeah, I'm a sadist.... can't help myself! :guilty:

;)

I love them.

Usually the person venting is ticked about something that has ticked me off in the past.

I love complaining! Better to do it here than out in public I always say.

It depends upon the topic and the OP.

If it's a poster that has a history of complaining/dramatic/stirring the pot posts, then I usually skip it unless the topic really interests me.

If it's a poster that rarely seems to moan about things, then I'll usually read and try to lend a supportive word or two.

Some vent threads I'll read for the train-wreck factor--you just know it's coming.

Odd, this sounds just like a vent thread

And yes, I do read them. Sometimes I even reply. Venting is healthy & this is (usually) a safe place to do it.

I read them. I like them when they're funny, but I don't respond unless the person is sincerely looking for ideas to fix a problem, and I happen to have something different to offer than all the other great advice, which is seldom, LOL.

I've got a lot going on right now, so lately I haven't felt like there's enough room in my sensitive heart to hear anything bad...sort of like when you only want to watch comedies...if that makes sense.

Pretty much exactly what she said. I've also been known to start a vent thread or two, so I'm guilty of it as well.
