Do you read everything in a post before commenting?

yes, I read the whole thing ....... sometimes important parts dont come out.until later in the thread....

Depends on the thread. If someone is asking for an honest opinion and I don't want to be swayed by all the other opinions, I'll go right into giving my opinion and then read the rest to see how many others agree or disagree with how I see things.

If a thread is 5 pages long? I might read the first two pages, maybe a little of the 4th or 5th, and then give my opinion.

Looking like a idiot isn't something I typically concern myself with on message boards. :lmao:

Me neither. It is anonymous.

It may be anonymous in that people on here don't know who you are in real life, but you can build up a message board reputation, and that would stick with you while a member of this board.

I am very detail oriented, and being a teacher, I also remember faces and names; therefore, I remember how and what many members write, and do remember previous posts too. So, after many years on here, it's not hard to learn people's writing and posting styles.

I really like rule #3 :thumbsup2
I'm in the middle of a stupid discussion where if rule #3 had been applied and enforced it would not be nearly so long or stupid or judgemental or asinine for that matter! :lmao:

What is so hard about sticking to the details of an original post? I just don't understand. There is usually so much meat to chew on already, why the need to redirect and add more. It makes me a wee bit crazy :headache:

I used to - but since the trend is leaning more and more towards even the most innocent of threads turning downright ugly and nasty, I'm not interested in getting caught up in it.. (I saw one last night when I popped in for a few minutes - can't remember what it was about right now - but clearly remember that I couldn't understand how such a thread could turn so "ugly"..:confused3)..

If it's a long thread, I will usually read the first page - then the last one or two pages.. If I see on those last one or two pages that things have become nasty - or gone totally off track - I don't bother to read any of the other pages.. I will say what I have to say - and move along to another thread..

I don't care to be involved with the negativity and since I don't spend all that much time here anymore, I would rather just use the time that I am here posting - not reading 20 to 30 pages of bickering and name calling..

So I guess my answer is "sometimes"..:upsidedow

Not always, I just read the OP's post and give my heartfelt opinion on the matter:rolleyes1. Usually, once I have posted and it takes me to like the end, I may catch a glimpse of what has transpired since and will sometimes adjust my post accordingly:)

Because people don't read rule #4 ;)

That, and some people just don't care. Their argument is the only important thing and how dare someone call them out on a flaw in it. Plus, some also just love to argue on the internet. It's a high for them and they will find any little thing to argue about.
