Do you put TSA approved locks on your luggage?

Yep. Every time. To annoy the person who steals my bag when they have to cut into the bag or break the zipper. I know it does little to stop theft, but if I can slow them down a little then the lock did it’s job.
Have you ever had an issue? Are TSA approved locks acceptable on all airlines?

Yes, I do. I know they are acceptable for all USA domestic flights. One more way to keep a bag closed if something breaks, and I like to think if a thief has to chose between easy to open and one more step, they'll take another bag? I change every one to my same code, so I never have to remember a code.

We do every trip for the same reason a previous poster gave. We’ve never had a problem with having the bags locked.

I’ve never locked our luggage and I’ve been traveling for 50 years. I carry any valuables with us.
Same. I don't think I've locked a suitcase in 30 years. But our suitcases are pretty much just clothes, maybe some snacks for the room if it's Disney. Anything personal or valuable goes in a carryon.

No I don’t bother. There’s nothing valuable in my checked luggage and I’ve never had an issue. I don’t think DH locks his checked wet and dry suits for scuba either, though he carries the more valuable equipment onboard with him.

Nope. There is nothing major in my luggage and I don’t think random people will be opening my suitcase. Never had an issue. I think tsa opened a bag once and my daughter’s once in all of our trips.

I do not. As for why? Because there is absolutely nothing valuable in my checked luggage. Clothes, maybe some OTC meds (which can be easily replaced), maybe some souvenirs on the way home.

Now, I *DID* purchase a TSA lock and keep it on my backpack. I used it in DC when I got in early on travel day, went to the hotel and dropped the bags with them and went sight seeing. I was able to lock the zippers together for the compartment that held my laptop and tablet.

I have the same philosophy as you, if someone is so minded as to rifle through a bag, I bank on them choosing the unlocked bag. All my bags have built in TSA locks anyway, but when they didn’t, I used them.
