Do you prepay in full for room only ressies?

I have a room only reservation, and have paid the required one-night deposit. I have seen other posts where people say they have paid in full for their room only reservation. I didn't even know that was an option! How can you make payments?

Do you prefer to have it all paid for beforehand? I tried to convince DH of this but he doesn't think it really matters. I guess in the longrun it doesn't matter, but I bet it feels good to be on vacation and know it's already paid for!

How did you make your reservation?

If you made it thru a travel agent, call them with the payment info and they can pass it along to Disney.

If you made it yourself online or over the phone, you can call Disney to make payments.

I personally have never prepaid a room only, but I know some people prefer it. And Disney does give the option if you do. :)

If you made it online through the Disney website they don't let you pay in full. I tried to do this and that's what the CM told me a few months ago. You can only do so if you called in to make your ressie.

Well, that makes sense now. I booked a room only on-line and wanted to make a payment on-line, and I could not find where to do it. I KNOW I did it in the past, I think maybe I had a package though. Does that make a difference?

We make our reservations about a year in advance. In that time, we make a payment once a month and we end up paying off the ressie 3 or 4 months (or more) in advance. Once the ressie is paid off, we keep putting those payments into a savings account and we use that for spending money at WDW.:cool1:

If you do prepay your room, and something happens where your plans must change, I am assuming you get it all back?? Right??

Yes. It will take 2 to 4 business days to have the funds credited back to your credit/debit card. Not sure how packages work as i've never booked a package; room-only for us.

Anytime I've booked room only, I paid the balance upon arrival. I was not aware you could make payments on a room only.

For those who made payments, are you sure you had a room only reservation?

Yes, I have room only. I chose to book through DU. I make regular payments online at their website, will have our vacation paid off well before we go. I love
knowing that when I come home from vacation there won't be a big credit card bill. Hooray!

Thanks for the quick reply, that's good to know. I will be using a travel agent for the first time on my next trip.

I book room only by myself and make the deposit and then later make payments over the phone with the credit card. It is always paid off before we get there.

You have to prepay for a package but not for a room only.

You have to pay a deposit of the first nights rate. If you cancel five days prior to check-in you get the full amount back.

I have done it both ways, just depends on when payday falls.

I always pay the room (only) off about two months beforehand, and put it on our Disney Visa. We pay the Visa off, but have a few more Disney Dollars to spend on a CS lunch in the parks, or whatever.

I made our January ressies in October and paid the one night deposit. Today I mailed in the final payment on the room ressies. Wanted to be sure there weren't any issues when we arrive.

I always prepay for our WDW vacations (both room only and packages). We love the feeling of having it totally paid for before we arrive.

Also, it is easier on my budget. With the vacation already paid for, if anything major financially happens, we are more able to handle it. (One year my washing machine quit the day after we got back from WDW--in the middle of washing all the laundry)

Same here! We always prepay whether room only or a package. I also put money up beforehand to cover food, souvineers, etc. I like knowing my trip is totally paid off before I go. The day after I come back from vacation I pay off anything I bought while I was down there and start saving for the next vacation:rolleyes1 .
