Do you Pixie Dust?

In another thread, AquaDame mentioned pixie dusting some of her Disney pins. I think that's a great idea -- now that we don't wear lanyards much anymore, I have a bunch of pins I'll probably never use again. I'll keep the ones that are special to me, but I think I may get rid of the rest on our next trip. I was thinking of giving the pins to kids, but there may be adults who might like to have them as well, so I'm not sure how I'll go about this.

In the past, we've Pixie Dusted random kids in the parks. I've done this by finding Disney-related items at the dollar store. We've pixie dusted stickers, bubbles and glow bracelets, don't remember what else. (Note: When giving things to kids, we always ask the parents, not the kids.) It used to be fun to pixie dust Fast Passes we couldn't use, but those days are long gone. I guess theoretically this could still be done but it would be much more difficult.

Do you pixie dust? If so, what kind of items, and who do you pixie dust? Have you ever had a negative experience when trying to pixie dust someone? I haven't, but just wondering.

Yes, i have given out glow sticks/bracelets at Fantasmic to folks around me at the show. Seems like I had to buy a big bag of them for Christmas one time and whatcelse was I going to do with them??? LOL.

I also gift the ears I make...I have probably made 100 pairs since Covid when I started...i myself have over 4 dozen! If anyone would like a pair, DM me and I will see if I have one. I know I have a bunch of Pixar characters plus a Cruella and a Maleficent. Been awhile since I looked in that box.

And before anyone says, "oh,you should sell those on Etsy or Ebay"...no, I don't want that hassle...they are just fun for me to do, something Ienjoy creating. Can't wait to wear my new Halloween ones in a couple of weeks! Also, my Cars Land ones which I must say turned out really cute!

Of course, it's going to end at some point since Joann is gone now...good thing I have a lot of fabric stashed away!

My daughter and her friends have been making bracelets to hand out on our next trip. It's not something we can get in trouble for right? I'm a worrier. They are so cute, it's the clay discs that they are making in various character colors. Some have words on them or mickey beads.

Nope, i did a bunch for Pride Night...like Taylor friendship bracelets...😊

They were silicone rainbow hearts alternating with Mickey heads...and PRIDE NIGHT in alphabet beads...

No....DH has been handing out earrings for about 20 years.....even the cast members love them.
At WDW, we were there when Gary Sinise's Foundation people were there. They loved it. Then he wished he had more to give out

I love to pixie dust people, but it's usually by taking them or sending them to DL!

I sent along some pixie dust to the darling barista in my local Starbucks. She's always so kind to everyone. She just gushed over my DL SB tumbler (the skinny metal one with pics of DL attractions all over it from a few years back). I'd gotten an extra one to use as a gift and when I heard she tried to buy one but they didn't have them any longer, I gave it to her one day as a surprise. She actually cried and it made me happy to see her delight. They've come out with new ones now but they're in different colors. Still nice, but I like the originals.

Such cool ideas! And a lot of you are definitely making much more effort than going to the dollar store. Making your own pixie dust is next level!

Wow, are these the ears that you're wearing in some of your trip reports? If so, I'd love to have a pair, maybe Maleficent? I'd be happy to pay you for them. You're a very talented sewist from what I've seen on your posts. I'll DM you.

Isn't it great when someone loves something as much as you were hoping they would? So thoughtful of you and a great story!
