Do You Pick Your Own Car With Budget

I can't remember if we picked our own car with Budget or not at MCO. Also, do you go to the counter or right to the garage?

We just rented from Budget in PHX. They gave us the car also---but I didn't like the Impala (I am not a fan of the gas pedal on it) so I traded for a Gallant which was not a good car the final one was a Camry which did great. Got 30+ MPG in city driving and even better on highway between PHX and San Diego.

They had all sorts of cars- I had no problems exchanging the cars---
Decided next time I am better with Alamo or National so I can pick my own car right away. This trip they were so much more!

If you are a Fast Breaks member and you reserved your car with your FB member ID just go to the garage. Otherwise you will have to go to the counter.

I've rented from budget at Orlando International Airport (MCO) three times in the last year and all three times we got to pick our own car from a designated row with cars of that size.

As previous posters mentioned, fast break members go straight to the booth in the parking garage and have a dedicated line for fastbreak members that moves fast. All others must go to the counter and then go to the booth and wait in line again. Once you are at the booth, the process is the same - they confirm your docs and direct you which row to choose from.

If you are going to rent through budget, I highly recommend getting a fastbreak account. It's free and saves you a ton of time.

Rapid rewards is not the same thing as Fastbreak. Fastbreak functions as a master rental agreement that you electronically sign and keep on file. You provide your contact info, address, driver license number, and a credit card. You can update any of this information from time to time as necessary, but by having all of the information on file with your fastbreak account when you make a reservation with it, your reservation is pursuant to that master rental agreement that you electronically signed online, so when you show up in the fast break line at the booth in the garage, they have a pre-printed copy of your rental agreement that you electronically signed that will automatically be billed to your credit card on file. I am usually in and out of the booth in less than 30 seconds. I have my driver license, credit card and fast break card out, hand them over, they confirm my license and credit card against that in the pre-printed agreement, and then hand me the rental agreement and tell me from which row I can select my car.

I don't mean to sound like a budget salesman. It looks like many programs have adopted similar "skip the counter" programs as well. Our next rental is with national because their rates for a minivan were phenomenal (13 days for $283 - taxes included!), and by pre-entering my info online with national I can go direct to one of their self-service kiosks. I've never done that before so I'm not sure what all that entails.
