Do you pick up your luggage BEFORE boarding DME?

We are due in at MCO around 3:30 p.m., flying in on Southwest. Do you pick up your luggage or wait for it to be delivered to your room. We've never flown in that late in the day. Would the bags be delivered by say, 9 o'clock in that evening?

Thanks,
penny

For me the luggage service is one of the best things about Magical Express so I always tag them and never pick them up. Unless something extrodinary happens your luggage should be delivered before 9 pm

I totally agree! We landed at about 6pm and had a ADR for around 9pm. We left the hotel around 7:30 and the bags were there when we arrived back after dinner......

Just be sure to tag your checked bags with the yellow luggage tags DME sends you in your packet! I know one person thought DME just grabbed the bags automatically..not sure what the heck she thought those yellow tags were for but she didn't use them. When she got to the DME checkin area, it's a good thing they asked her about her checked bags...otherwise she would never have gotten them!!
If you arrive at 3pm, your bags should get to your room by 7pm..maybe even sooner. Just pack that carryon bag with anything you may need for the rest of that day. Then you can freshen up at the resort and head out to start your fun without worrying about your baggage arrival.

The only time I would not 'let' Magical Express pick up my luggage would be if I arrived between 10 PM and 6 AM - when they don't pick it up.

I could've saved money on my flight, but the cheaper flight didn't arrive until after 11 PM. It's worth the extra money to not have to handle my own bag.

Disney says to expect DME bags to be delivered within 3 hours of resort check-in. Assuming you get to your resort at 5:00 p.m., you should have your checked bags by around 8:00 p.m.

Personally, I would NEVER choose to give up the neatest perk of DME, the automatic luggage delivery.

I would NEVER choose to get my own bags.

As a matter of fact since our flights always arrive after 10pm, we have gotten an Owner's Locker that stays loaded with 4 days of clothing and our toiletries at all times. That way we now do carryon only with the laptop, CPAP machine, and one change of clothing. (Just on the out chance something happens to the OL) When we get to the resort, we grab our Owner's Locker from Luggage Services and we have everything we need!!.

Love it!!!!

how do you get your T@B?

Shhhhhhhhhh........We actually do cheat on the Fort every now and then and go on weekend warrior trips and stay at "gasp!!" a value resort!!

Fly out Friday night after work, then fly home late Sunday night.

It's those darn APs and Ding! fares :-)
