I know probably a dumb question but I am still a newbie. I have only been on DCL once and it was for 3 nights and never cruised before....so please forgive my ignorance :)

There is a $10 surcharge per person for dinner at Palo.

It's definitely worth it, in my opinion.

Cool good to know and definitely worth it since it is adults only LOL getting a meal as a couple again priceless LOL. Do they have seating times or is it more of a reservation type of thing?:)

reservations that you make as soon as you board the ship, before they are all full

Thanks so it is like say I want to go at 5:300 one evening or 7:30 it isn't like either 6 or 8 Like to other restaurants?

We've been on 2 DCL vacations and have never eaten at Palo. I hear it is wonderful, but DH and I think the regular dining is too and he doesn't like to dress up anyway  I've never felt bad that we didn't eat there.

JMHO.

I may feel badly about leaving DS so we will see then LOL. I do enjoy the quality of dining and it is a plus to be with the whole family KWIM?

FYI....

It is Palo, named after the long poles the gondoliers use in Venice...it's not the name of someone i.e. Palo's Restaurant.....

Can't remember from the last crusie,....is it just a $10/person charge to eat at Palo? or do you have additional costs for the food?

The $10 is a built-in gratuity. There is no extra charge for the food. As some have said, they have added to the "built-in" gratuity.

Ok it is just how I refer to a restaurant. Maybe a Long Island thing but thanks for the lesson.

ressie times run from 5pm or so to 9pm, probably in 1/2 hour increments.

They're not kidding when they say it's the first thing you do when you board. The day's schedule is handed to you when you check-in. It will tell you when and where to go to make your reservations. I'd get there at least 10 minutes before the start time if possible. The earlier you get there, the better chance you'll have of getting the day/time you want. Things to consider: show times, port days, sunset (beautiful with all the windows). Plan on dinner taking at least 2 hours. Have fun!
