Do you park between the lines?

Something I've always noticed in parking lots is when they're practically empty, people will park diagonally across several lines, or will just park pell mell. Do you do this? Why?

Just curious. I'm just a rule follower, even to the point of parking perfectly even in an empty lot!

I know how to park. I'd like to add to this though...

When you see a small car in a parking spot, does your depth perception suddenly get all wanky and cause you to park 6 inches away from it? Do you think it is farther away since it looks small?

I am so sick of having to squeeze into my car!

That drives me crazy when people can't park in the lines!! What, do they think they're too important and don't have to park in the lines??? :confused3 UHHH! My boss' wife will key their car! I wouldn't do that...but come on! I think it is ridiculous, especially when they park up close and take more than one spot. There are people that don't have a handicapped sign that do need to park close! I park close to the cart returns myself.

Yep, its only those idiots who think there car is betetr that everyoe elses who park like that.

Those are the cars I hope a flying cart will hit :stir:

No matter how empty the lot, I always park between the lines. Irks me that someone feels they're too important to park the proper way!!!! I always want to kick their car ... I don't ...but I want to!

I park between the lines. My DH thinks that he's parking between the lines. :rotfl: If I don't want someone to ding my van, I'll park way out--I won't park diagonal. When I see cars parked like that I'd like to pull right up next to it (I don't, but the way, it's just something evil I think of doing :lmao: ). I don't really mind someone doing it as long as it's way out in a not busy parking lot, but rude in a busy lot or up close.

I always park between the lines. I always wonder exactly how long those multiple space takers think they're going to keep their car looking shiny and new. Unless you keep your car in the garage and never drive it, something will happen. And if you annoy people (like the boss' wife mentioned) by taking up several spaces, it seems something may happen sooner than you think.

We have a home/office and we have plenty of parking....that being said, we have now contacted a LINE PAINTER for the driveway as NO ONE, literally no one that comes by our office, parks to allow another customer to park....it is literally INSANE...they park all in an angle, across TWO spaces,
PELL MELL like you said OP!!! Then I have to go out and someone has parked directly BEHIND my car OR so CLOSE I can barely get in the door....

I really did not want to paint the driveway BUT we think this will help...but we asked the guy TWO weeks ago to paint and the RAIN here in the Northeast has kept the guy from getting the painting done....

 :car:

I have a strong urge to park exactly between the lines, but then again I have OCD.

I always park between the lines. Where I live it's always the big SUV's that are "double parked" as we call it  What's worse is I drive a SUV and I've never even thought of doing that.

I was walking across a parking lot just this morning and saw a guy who had clearly parked his shinny-new car across two spaces, so nobody could park too close to him. I though, "I wonder why this never comes up on the DIS?"

I park between the lines :)

A few days ago, we went to Old Navy, and some guy who did have the nicest car in the lot parked on a line, taking 2 parking spaces. I think it's an entitlement issue. I'm better than you type thing. That's the only thing I can think of :confused3

When I was little, there was a store selling these cards that you could put on people's windshield. They read "Did you have to park this way or are you just a selfish *******? They were quite cool :smooth:

I park between the lines or I try to.. If I'm not its because I'm a poor parker. Is that even a word?? :confused3

I always park between the lines. . . the lines are my friends!!!

OK - I try to, but if I'm driving DH's land barge of a truck, I'm in the 2 farthest away parking spots at the end of the parking lot. He has a crew cab truck with a long bed, so I can't pull into a regular spot.

The car, however, I'm between the lines.

Oh MAN, I want some of those cards! I just might have to make up some for myself, maybe substituting "jerk" for whatever "*******" was ;) . Maybe even make up some with "Where's YOUR handicapped hang tag or license plate" for the people who "just go in the store for a *moment* & take a handicapped space when they obviously don't qualify for one.

agnes!

Even though I park in the nose bleed section to protect my vehicle from dings and scratches~ I always park in between the lines.

I always park inbetween the lines. Even at my old job when I worked from 4am to just as the store opened I parked properly. At the local mall the parking lot is HUGE and is usually never filled (except during the holidays). So I have seen people park like this in the far off spots that no one in their right mind would park in. So when they do that I don't mind.

T&B, I have actually done that. Let's just say I had a really crappy car that was on its last few miles. Someone parked like that near the front of a store. The spot next to them was the only one open. So I parked there leaving them very little room to get into their car. If they dinged my car, it would have helped the look. Sorry, I was a moody teenager and I'm slightly evil.

I do. But, one night, I had a Doug Heffernan experience in the garage. You know that episode of King of Queens where Doug was slammed in by 2 other cars and tried to crawl through the sunroof? Ya....I crawled through my back hatch (I have a Blazer). All those years of gymnastics finally paid off for me!
