Do you own a scale?

I was just reading through that "fat and lazy on an ecv" thread and started thinking...

Do you own a scale? I always see the WISH people reporting how much weight they've lost and I have started a better exercise plan and I have cut most sugar out. I have definitely noticed a difference in my clothes and that is what I've been going by...especially since I've been working out. I may be gaining muscle.

Again, am I weird for not owning a scale?

Instead of putting pounds, I could put "lost a pant size, 2 more to go!" :thumbsup2

Own one? Yes. Does it have a battery in it? Heck, no.

I'm with you-I'd rather see how close fit than focus on a number. I'm down 1 1/2 clothing sizes since starting my current job. It's all the healthy food I'm eating and no mall food court lunches!

yeah I've got a nice one. I doesn't make the numbers any lower though. ;)

No, I have a tendency to get a little kooky when it comes to my weight so it's better for me not to own one. We use to have one but when we moved down to Florida last year it got "accidentally" thrown out by someone(DH).;) I still weigh myself when I go to Publix though but at least that's only once a week or so.

Yep I've got to be accountable. I weigh every morning. I've lost 37 pounds in about 3 months. I have to know what the scale says because I have to know if I'm doing right or not......LOL!

Yes. I weigh in at least four times a week.

Don't tell anyone, :ssst: but I have 2 scales side-by-side. They are completely different designs. I don't trust my scale to give an accurate reading, so I have a backup that I don't trust either. However, since I bought the second scale, I lost 15 lbs on both scales. Does that mean I lost 30? Probably not :teeth:

I get on every morning and before bedtime. I may be becoming scale compulsive and I don't know if there's therapy for that. I just know that I have to leave home without them and trust myself to be good in public. I'd like to take one on vacation, but the other might get lonely. Kidding.

I really believe in them. For me they are a great tool. Keeps me honest. I go up, I cut back a little. I go down, I do the happy dance!

Nope. I don't own a scale. My weight doesn't fluctuate all that much, though. Every time I go to the dr's (about twice a year), I weigh exactly the same. :teeth:

If my clothes start getting tight, I cut back on unhealthy foods and step up on my walking. More salads for lunch, less candy bars. :teeth: I'm too cheap to buy new clothes when I have perfectly good ones already. Plus I have a teenage dd and I don't want her to start fixating on her weight.

I own one, but I refuse to look at it every day. :teeth:

I have one and weigh myself everyday, first thing in the morning. I like to stay in a 5 lb range and this is my reality check.

It is in DH and my bathroom, not the kids.

Yes, I do. I admit I look at it nearly every day too. I wanted to lose size and like a PP, I wanted to be held accountable. I had fallen way off the "deep end" with my weight and so my DH did tough love with me. That included watching the weight. I didn't have a weight goal at first, in mind, I just used it to see if what I was doing was working week to week. It was an easier way for me to keep track than just pants size.

Just did it that way because a pound I could see gone every few days. One pants size would take about a month to drop. For me, I needed to see that what I was doing was working. So I had something I could see very quickly. I just get discouraged easily.

I'm to the point where I just have to work out and tone up leg and stomach muscles a bit more, but I still use the scale to make sure I am still doing what I need since I am not so "anal" about what I eat now :)

Yes, I weigh every day, but try to not let it affect my day when it's not doing what I want. Seven weeks on WW and I have lost 18 lbs.

nope, i weigh 240lbs and thats my story

My scale must be broken. The numbers seem to only go up and never down. :teeth: What's up with that? :confused3

No, I haven't for years. I get weighed when I go to the doctors.

I do own a scale and it lies to me every time I get on it. ;)
My scale is not as bad as the one at the doctors office though-that one is really out to get me

I have a set of scales. Do I use them a lot. Not really. I go to TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) and I get weighed there. I need to lose weight because of my diabetes. Plus, I hate having a flabby stomach.
