I was just curious if anybody out there has a Magic Bullet...

It is usally sold on TV Infomercials...but you can find it in some stores..:surfweb:

If you do not know what that is....here is a picture...

DH got one at a Open Box sale at Best Buy for cheap...and tonight I finally opened it up and tried it....to see if it was any good...

So far...so good, I made myself a Strawberry Smoothie with real strawberries! It made it smooth and creamy...just like in the commercial! :rotfl:

So, if you have one...does it work well?? What do you make? Mine came without a recipe book, so I am clueless on what to do..:confused3

Any other comments or questions? Anything I should be warned about?

We have one, got it as a gift at Christmas.

We've used it twice.

I think DH made a protein shake once, and we made milkshakes twice.

You have to REALLY want to make something in the thing, because then you have to clean it! ;)

The other day, I was making guacamole, and DH said, "Use the Magic Bullet!" I said, "No WAY! I am making it inside of the bowl I will be storing it in! Why dirty that thing too!" :rotfl:

I got one for Xmas a few years ago. I use it to make smoothies after a run. Have used it to make pancakes and also chicken salad-it's very versatile. It actually isn't hard to clean-just rinse out the cup and throw it on the top tray of the dishwasher.

I love it for making hummus. Now that the garden has blossomed and I have tons of basil, I'll be making a lot of it with the basil, chick peas, olive oil, garlic and onions, using chicken broth as the liquid.
We have also used it for fruit drinks.

My sister has one and she uses it to make slushies for the kids all summer long. I wish I had one!

I've made pesto in mine...and frappacinos...and smoothies. I've never had luck making the chicken salad. I do like it though. Also, it is very easy to clean--it's just two pieces. I just rinse them and toss them in the dishwasher.

We love our Magic Bullet but only really use it for smoothies. But it is really easy for the kids to whip them up themselves. We used to use a blender but this is so much easier and the clean up is simple as other posters have said. I would say that the infomercial does misrepresent a few things. For example, that delicious-looking cheesy nacho sauce that they lovingly pour does not exist. (At least I have not figured out how to make it ) This was much to my DD10's disappointment. But, overall I give it two thumbs up!v ;)

My son uses it every day to make fresh fruit smoothies.

I've also heard tell that on particularly bad days it also makes a mean single frozen strawberry margarita. ;)

Sounds silly, but I use mine to make scrambled eggs. 2 pushes and the eggs are mixed up perfect, and without the slimy membranes that are hard to mix with a fork LOL.

We have had ours for a few years now. I use it for smoothies, eggs (quiche too), chicken salad... and just for chopping onions and stuff. I love it!

I make my morning smoothie with it. Frozen fruit, juice, and yogurt. Works great! I haven't done much else with it, but just for smoothies it was a great value because I make one almost every day. :thumbsup2

We like our magic bullet, but I will admit that we don't use it often. It's not an appliance that we keep out, so it's a bit of a hassle dragging it out when we want to use it and then putting all the pieces back away.

The thing to remember about this unit is that it really, really wants to puree anything that it comes into contact with. If you want anything to stay chunky, you need a really light touch.

Could you use it to make baby food? I hate buying the stuff in the jars, and would love to just throw some fresh fruit and veggies into a blender type thing.

Can someone explain how they do the chicken salad? Mine never seems to work out....

I would think it would work very well for this, as PP has said, it likes to puree, rather than leaving things chunky.
I do leave mine on my counter, it's pretty small. It's super easy to just toss in the dishwasher to clean also.

Uhmmm... I'm glad you included a picture. I have friends who discuss another type of Magic Bullet :scared:
