Do you need to secure transportation in advance?

My sister, her DH and DD are arriving at MCO on the Tuesday before Thanksgiving. She was just going to wait until they go there to get a shuttle or cab to Disney World.

We've rented a car the last few times and previous to that (10 years ago) we had advance tickets for a Mears shuttle.

Will they be able to easily get transportation? Thanks for any help....

Reservations eliminate these types of questions and concerns.
The days around Thanksgiving are busy, especially at airports, so I would recommend you make some type of plans now and reserve your transportation.

At least you can do this in the comfort of your home using the Internet and phone. This is far better than possibly finding yourself running from counter to counter...losing Disney time... in an airport filled with holiday travelers trying to find a form of transportation.

Any other time, they'd be able to wing it with no problem. But T-Day is the busiest travel time of the whole year, so having pre-set arrangements is a really good idea. Depending on their needs, a car rental or a town car service would be their best bet.

In fact, if they really want a car rental, they MUST book in advance, I doubt the car companies will have cars available for walk ups, and if they do the cost would be much higher.

A town car will run about $90 to $110 round-trip total for up to 4 people. The driver would meet them at baggage claim and take them right to their hotel. If they want, the driver can even make a stop at a grocery store to stock up on soda and snacks (they just need to let the town car service know ahead of time).

Mears is another option, and it would save them a little money, but Mears makes multiple stops around the airport picking up people, and multiple stops at hotels droping off people, so it could take them a very long time to make it to their hotel. Personally, I'd spend the extra money on the town car.
