If you've done the Discover Scuba Diving Cozumel (CZ67) excursion, did you need to be scuba certified? There is no mention of certification requirements on the DCL website, unlike the Certified Scuba (CZ02) excursion that states certification is needed. Thanks for any input!
Learn how to Scuba dive with a PADI certified scuba instructor, then experience shallow-water training and a guided 25-foot dive.
On this adventure you will...
Be greeted at the pier by your bilingual guide and then taken by taxi on a short 15-minute transfer to Sunset Beach.
Meet your PADI certified Dive Instructor and learn the simple skills needed for your first scuba experience, including breathing techniques and underwater communication. You will have approximately 45-minutes of pre-dive training and safety instruction.
After gearing up, enter the water from shore for a shallow water skills assessment to gain confidence.
The dive site reaches a maximum depth of 25 feet, and is home to schools of sergeant majors, pairing angelfish and lobsters. Your instructor will guide you through this new breathtaking world of fish and coral.
Dive with new and top-of-the-line scuba equipment in Cozumel's warm and exceptionally clear waters - an outstanding opportunity for you to make your first dive a remarkable experience. This dive will count toward future instruction needed to gain a PADI Open Water Certification.
After your approximate 45-minute underwater experience, take time to relax on the beach or enjoy a short snorkel prior to returning to the pier.
No certifications need for the discover scuba excursions. They're really great for people who aren't sure if they want to get certified, or wouldn't use a certification enough to justify the time and expense.
Have you always wondered what it’s like to breathe underwater? If you want to try scuba diving, but aren’t quite ready to take the plunge into a certification course, Discover Scuba Diving is for you. PADI dive shops offer this program either in a pool, off a beach or from a dive boat. You can try scuba close to home or while you’re on vacation at a dive destination. While not a scuba certification course, Discover Scuba Diving is a quick and easy introduction to what it takes to explore the underwater world. To sign up for a PADI Discover Scuba Diving experience, you must be at least 10 years old. No prior experience with scuba diving is necessary, but you need to be in reasonable physical health.
