I just got on to set my fast passes when I noticed Wishes was on it, just not available. Do we need fast passes for Wishes. We have never had to get them before. Thanks!

No way do you need them.

They also have FP+ for the Electrical Parade. DH was on ECV so we were put in one of the Handicap areas--right next to the FP+ area. We had room to move, but the folks in the FP+ were sardined in.

I didn't notice the location for the viewing area for Wishes, but I can tell you, we moved over to see Wishes and were standing (and sitting) right by the Walt and Mickey statue.

I second not using a FP for wishes. I know everyone has a favorite location...Ours is on main street just ahead of the clock. We find it perfect to be far enough back to see all the fireworks, close enough to see the show on the castle and close the exit for the sprint after the show is over.

If you get a FP+ for the Electrical Parade, can you keep your spot for Wishes (without a FP)? And if so, is this even a good spot?

Do you "need" them? no. Do I get them once a year? Yes. The area that is reserved for FPs is called the Rose Garden, it a grassy section between Tomorrowland walkway and walkway that leads to the Teacups. I like that everyone sits in grass, no one in your way, kids on shoulders, people trying to get around you (maybe they are leaving or trying to get to a different section of the park). My profile is a pic of grandson when we were there for Moms day weekend. When we enter we go toward the left and this shows the castle just before Celebrate the magic starts. For me by the time Wishes starts I'm dead tired. It's just nice to sit and watch. But by getting them you are sacrificing extra FPs. We thought it was worth it. Granddaughter loved Tink going right overhead.

I have lots of great tips on where to watch to Fireworks. We are usually by the Walt and Mickey statue.

We had FP+ for wishes during testing last August. We were seated in the rose garden and while it was a nice grassy non crowded area. We missed having the direct view during the castle show, and the fireworks were of side. It was nice but the next time we viewed them we found a great spot on our own with a more centered view. I think you will find lots of nice places to view wishes without using a FP+. The wishes show is beautiful where ever you are. :tinker:

You don't need them but it is nice to watch in an uncrowded environment where people are seated.

On the down side, it's not a centered view so some of the effects might lose their full impact. On the up side, it's close by and Tinkerbell flies right over your head.

Here's a map that shows the FastPass+ reserved locations.
The MSEP FP+ area ceases to be "reserved" after the parade passes.
Regardless, it is too close to the castle, which blocks the view of many of the
major fireworks.
If you choose FP+ for MSEP only, I've included red arrows to show where to MOVE
for viewing Wishes (and Celebrate the Magic) right after the parade passes the parade FP+ reserved area.

We watched Wishes with a FP last month and I don't think I'd do it again. It rained that day so we weren't allowed on the grass. We had to stand on the path going through the rose garden. The view was ok but I missed the straight on view with the castle. The main benefit IMO was not standing/sitting shoulder to shoulder in a crowd. After Wishes was over we just hung out there for 15 minutes and didn't get caught up in a mob of people. But I'd probably not waste a FP on it again.
