Do we need to make some dining reservations for our 3 days in the parks for the first week of Aug?

Been to WDW many times and always have priority seating before we go. Going in 3 weeks and have nothing planned for DL.:confused3

Well, it depends. If you can always eat off hours, then you are likely to be able to get in most places without too much of a guarantee. But I have found that too often, if I don't have a PS, then we are always exhausted and starving right when everyone else is, and then we end up settling for whatever has the shortest line (usually the worst choice).

Now, no matter when I am going, I make sure to have one PS a day. I have been the hero for my family on more than one occasion.

And for BB, you should make a PS if eating there is important to you.

We most always go in Aug and always make PS for the places we want to eat at. I have seen numerous groups of folks turned away because they did not. We will be there the week of the 15th and and all the reservations have been made except for "F".

Good luck and have fun,

Jack

We're there the end of July & the first 2 days in August & we definitely made PS for our trip!! Busy time at the parks & this guarantees we get in at our favorites with little to no wait time.

They're free to do & can always be canceled if plans change!!

We always make PS no matter what season we are going. We've learned our lesson from previous trips where we didn't, and would have to wait in a line for 45 min to eat at the place we wanted. My husband always rolls his eyes when I make the PS, but then literally thanks me when we are there and able to avoid the line of people who don't have PS. If you make one, you don't have to keep it. Better safe than hungry. ;)

I guess it depends if you want to eat at places that take PS. If you plan on eating at a place that does have PS then YES you should make them.

I always make dinner reservations. We just grab and go for lunch.

The parks are very busy during the summer so it is definitely best to make PSs for the places that you know you want to eat at. And as a PP mentioned, you don't have to keep your PSs. You can always call Disney Dining to move your PS or to cancel it. Definitely better to be safe than sorry ;)

Blue Bayou has been very unpredictable as to when they will take walk ins. There just doesn't seem to be anyway to predict when people are going to show up for their reservations, and when they won't.

Moral is: Make reservations at least 1 week ahead, for Blue Bayou.
