Do you need dining plan to make ADRs?

This is probably a very basic question....but I am new to this experience! Haven't been to WDW since I was a kid....and that was a "few" years ago. My question though is: Do you need to be using the dining plan to make ADRs 180 days in advance? Still undecided about whether I will add the dining plan or not. DD and I have reservations at POR over spring break 2007 and I know it is going to be packed! The 180 days window is coming up soon, and I would like to go ahead and make ADRs for a couple of restaurants I would like to go to. So can I go ahead and do that even if I am not using the dining plan?

No you do not need DDP to book ADR's. Some places my ask for a credit card number: CRT, Hoop-D-Doo, Fantasmic packages and have a cancellation fee if not cancelled I think 48 hours ahead of time.

Thanks! Appreciate the clarification. Now the task to decide exactly which of those restaurants I want to make sure I do not miss. So many places, so little time.
