but does anyone know approx how much would a room only reservation be with a shareholders discount. I have been looking at the prices for this winter, and can only calculate the hotel and tkts with 10% shareholder discount.
OK - I'm been looking for room-only and hadn't realised until I saw this thread and then got clalification from the Shareholder Club, that as a Shareholder I could get Room-Only.
So, this evening I call Disney - using the UK number 08706 06 68 00 (which was the number that the Shareholder Club said to use) and asked for a Room Only price with Shareholders 10% discount for:
2 Adults, 2 Children (Age 6 and 10)
Seq. Lodge
Montana Room
Nov 18th - Nov 23rd 2007
The quoted price was £460.
I know that a package (room+ticket - no transport) for the same would be in the region of £682 (quoted from website), which includes a free day/night and I guess a free child (under 7).
Incidently, we also managed to get out of Disney on another phone call the pricing for an AP Dream holder for the same dates etc. In this case the price quoted was for £408.
Having done some sums on the Shareholder and AP Dream pricing, I think the 'real' Room-Only price is roughly £512 for the period. 10% of £512 is £51.2 - which would bring the price to £460.8. Given this I think that the AP Dream discount was 20% - as 20% of £512 would be £102.4 - which would bring the price to £409.60.
Anyhow - back to the Shareholders Price. Once you add the cost of Annual Passport:
Dream: £120.89 (€179) * 4 (People) = £483.56 - 15% (Shareholders) = £72.55 = £411.03
Fantasy: £87.12 (€129) * 4 (People) = £348.48 - 15% (Shareholders) = £52.27 = £296.21
So the total cost would be:
Dream Passport: £460 (Room) + £411.03 (Dream Passports) = £871.03
Fantasy Passport: £460 (Room) + £296.21 (Fantasy Passports) = £756.21
Difference between Package cost
Dream Passport = £871.03 - £682 = £189.03
Fantasy Passport = £756.21 - £682 = £74.21
So, more expensive than the package, however, you then need to take into account the extras discounts that the AP will introduce.
Hope this helps.
