Do you need AAA # to book?

When calling Disney directly to book a room-only using the AAA discount, do you actually need your membership number at the time of booking or can you show your card when checking-in? (like the AP discounts).

I booked AAA for May 2005 trip and I was not asked my #. I'm sure at check in they will ask to see the card. This I hope will not be nec. because I am hoping for better codes with better rates.

Interesting that the above poster didn't need her card. I had to give my number when I used mine for a room-only AAA discounted reservation back in 1999. (Haven't needed a AAA reservation since then, used other codes). -HM

I booked the Poly a couple months back and POFQ yesterday with AAA rates. I did not have to have my number. As a matter of fact, I didn't join AAA until the day after I booked the Poly reservation with the AAA rate. I called back to give them my number and the CM said he didn't need it, just present my card at check-in. They will ask for your number, but will book the discount even if you don't have it to give them.

I asked this question not to long ago because I was going to get AAA but couldn't afford it right at that moment but really wanted to book my room for peace of mind. Well I did need an AAA number, they asked for it right at the end. So chances are you will need one.
