"Do You Mind?" - Disney Adventures with Teens August Trip Report

Can anyone tell me how the monorail in my siggy corresponds to 1 month, 14 days when it runs from 23 to 1 and it sits on the right side? I don't know what the 23 numbers stand for. Is that months? And maybe the front of the monorail is at 1 month, 14 days?

Maybe I need a new ticker. Anyone have any ideas?

:rotfl2: It's months. They are counted by 2s on your ticker, and your monorail is sitting on 1. It should change to days in two weeks.

Yeah, but I am an optimist. The trip is paid off!

The only thing I wonder is if it would have been a more magical, Disneyesque experience had we left it with WDW reservations. Now when I log onto the Disney sight, is says "Your reservation has been canceled. We hope to see you again soon."

I don't know, for some reason in my unrealistic world, I think that Disney might treat the "purists" who book through them and pay full price a little better. But reality says that we will likely be treated no differently from anyone else. Especially because Disney is known to treat everyone like a VIP.

I am sure we will have a great vacation anyway. I'm not worried about it. This is going to be so much fun and it's only 45 days away!!

I wouldn't be concerned about any difference between AAA and CRO reservations. I have booked both ways in my pre-DVC days and I didn't see any difference in help/support/magic-ness.

ahh I LOVE reading your TR, It makes me so excited that your family is going to disney world!! Im just sad:rolleyes1 you get to go before me! I just love the pictures of katies room, I would die for a room that bright! I was wondering how katie's sister is doing? It makes me happy that she got to have her "wish" granted.Although it isnt a "YOAMD" prize it probably felt like one to her!:cool1: Hope all is well!

Good - I'm so glad to hear that. Thanks!

Welcome! Thanks for the compliments on Katie's room. Believe it or not, she has commented on changing it. I think she's getting tired of it. I think Paxton is doing a little better. She is hanging in there. We don't get to hear much on her status, since Katie's dad and Pax's mom are on-again/off-again. But thanks for asking and we'll try to keep you posted. Congrats on your trip! Do you have a PTR? I'd love to read more about your family and trip plans.

One of my partners from Atlanta, and a good friend of mine, was visiting this week, helping our office meet some deadlines. We got to spend Friday night and last night showing her the town.

We got to talking about the Christmas mailing list for our partners and how we need to think about our Christmas cards. Last year, it seems most of the partners sent out cards with family photos. Also last year, one of my best friends went to Disney and her Christmas card was a family photo from WDW.

So that got me to thinking. (I know, dangerous, right?) Of course we are talking about trying to keep our "hard schedule" to a minimum on our vacation, so I hate to add something else to the mix. However, wouldn't it be nice to get a good family picture that we could use for our Christmas cards?

And with Photopass photographers, it seems convenient enough. The Photopass pics I've seen always seem to be very well done.

So, in keeping with trying to let the vacation "flow" and be very relaxing, here is my thought. Maybe I ensure that we each pack just one outfit that is color-coordinated with the others'. We won't necessarily plan for any one day, time, or location for the picture. Just one day during the trip, I will ask that everyone wear their color outfit and at some point in the day, make sure we get a decent picture of all of us together.

I'm not thinking of dressing up or anything. Our picture might be a formal "castle" shot, or it might just be a casual shot on the beach at BC or at SAB pool. It may be taken by a pro, or by Mom or Caitlin. I worry a little about the heat and whether hair/make-up, etc will withstand it enough to get a picture worthy of a Christmas card.

So what do y'all think? Good idea? Any further suggestions?

I saw a cute idea that I thought was kind of clever. A family that always took their Christmas card photo on their summer vacation would pack Santa hats for the photo. So they would have a picture of all of them at the beach or wherever, but they were all wearing Santa hats for Christmas.

I'm thinking of using our "Mickey Ears" photo from DHS for our Christmas card this year.

That sounds like a great idea. However, I have a question?

Do you need to buy the whole CD of pictures, or can you get copies made of the ones that you buy?

I really don't know, do you?

That is a cute idea. We might do that. I hope the Santa hats don't take us over the 50-lb limit in our suitcases :)

I loved your Mickey Ears photo. I am glad y'all did that.

I think you have to pay the $99 for access to the full CD and you can edit the pictures, add borders, etc. and order them for printing. I am not sure if the prints cost extra. I will try to research. There are photopass shares on these message boards if you're interested.

That's a great idea. I have seen here on the DIS somewhere :confused3 people in front of a snowman. I think it might be at MGM oops DHS somewhere. Not exactly sure where. Sorry about that. It would be a great spot for a Christmas card. I might just have to try and find it myself.

Are you talking about the Pooh & Friends Christmas scene at DTD? I don't remember a snowman at DHS, but it could well be there since I don't spend a lot of time at DHS.

No. That wasn't it. I'll do some research and try to find exactly where it is. I just saw it on someone else's TR. Wish I remembered which one.

Found it. It was on ScottNY TR.
It looks like it was near Pizza Planet.
I can see it in the background.
He went in January so I don't know if it's up all year.
I'll have to check it out in Sept.
Might have been just for the winter months.

I bought PhotoPass last night.
I can't believe we have only 1 month and 9 days!!
I hope to be able to reply to your posts later today.

Yeay for the Photopass CD!!!!

I hope you get a fabulous picture for your Christmas cards!!! There are so many great places for a family photo around WDW!

You are soooo close to going!!!

I know - very exciting! We will have our camera too, and I am sure Katie will take hers. It is always fun to share the pics later, after we have separated. And Katie and Caitlin will take some fun ones together. They have to have something to put on Myspace, right? :lmao:

Jackie - I love your collage in your siggie!

Donald is #1 - I saw that you're going to Mousefest in your siggie! How fun!
