Do you make your bed daily?

I always did until my dgf moved in. Her family doesn't and it drives me NUTS!!

But I think I've converted her to my way!

Nope. My mom tries to get me to when I'm home, but no one ever really sees it (and when we have company coming I will make it), so I don't see a reason too. I'm a serious sleeper; it takes forever just to untangle the covers. Doesn't make any sense to straighten it up just to mess it up a few hours later. I do make my bed before I head back to school though, so that it's not unmade for the weeks that I'm gone. I don't make my bed at school either, for the same reasons, and because my bed is shoved up against the wall which makes it hard. That and it's a bottom bunk so I have to work at a wierd angle to make it.

I always make my bed. The room just looks so much cleaner with it made!

Nope. I don't see the point.

Nope. Only time it is made is when the sheets are changed.
Doesn't bother me in the least little bit. No one sees my room. I don't care.

If I didn't make it as soon as I get up-I'd get right back in !!!

Never. I'm just going to mess it up again in 14 hours... :confused3

Someone please tell me that I'm not the only chick out there who never makes the bed!

I rarely make mine either (thank God my husband doesn't care either way!!). I agree you will mess it up later. I make it only when I know that someone will be seeing our room.

In my experience a made bed is MUCH nicer (and easier) to get in to.

Only when we're headed out of town. :teeth: Don't ask me why then - ??

With us, there is almost always someone in it. DH and I are usually on opposite schedules - he's sleeping during the day, me at night. It would be pointless to make it up.

Nope, you're not alone! Like you, I don't see the point. Also, I live in a hot climate, and it's nice to have the sheets feel somewhat cool from being exposed to the air all day under the ceiling fan. We also don't have a bedspread or comforter on the bed (again, pointless :teeth: ), just a top sheet, so there's not much to make anyway. Guests never come into our room except occasionally close family or friends, and I don't care what they think about how messy my bed looks! The room is already full of boxes of fishing club stuff, DH's fishing magazines, and other assorted stuff - what's a messy bed compared to that?! :rotfl:

Our cleaning lady does make the bed for us on the 2 days per week that she comes, and while it looks nice and neat, I don't find it makes me happy enough to want to do it myself every day.

I think it's a personal thing. My bed is made twice a week by our cleaning lady, and unmade the other 5 days, and I don't find that the made bed is any nicer than the unmade. Sure, it LOOKS nicer, but the looks alone aren't worth the effort.

Plus, our bed is an open and welcome place for our kids during the day (not so much at night ;) ), and they will usually have a made bed looking pretty unmade by the time we are ready to get in it and go to sleep! :teeth:

I can't get comfortable at night if the sheets and blankets are all twisted around, so if it doesn't get made in the morning it gets made before I go to bed.

The kids' beds rarely get made, but they usually just sleep with a comforter over them anyway so there's not much to make.

I try to everyday. But it's not a "first thing" thing. It's usually done after breakfast.

I can't leave the house if the bed isn't made. I usually make mine while the kids are eating breakfast. The kids make their beds every day too - that's one thing I can't stand is an unmade bed. I almost fainted the first time I went to see one of my ds's at college - I couldn't even find the bed! However the other one is just like me and makes his bed every day, even away at college.

I must be a freak because I have to vaccum and clean at least one bathroom every day too. I can't stand unvaccumed rooms. DD (9) is just like me!

At home? No.

In the camper? Yes.

I know, sounds stupid! But, the bedroom at home is upstairs. Nobody else goes up there but us. I see no point in making it up every day.

The camper I do like to have it made because when someone walks in the door, if the door to the bedroom is open (and it usually is) if they look to the right they can see the bed so I like to have it made. Plus I have a beautiful comforter on that bed with loons so I like it to be seen. :goodvibes

DH works nights, so during the work week, no our bed doesn't get made daily. An hour and a half after I get out of it, he's crawling in it. It would be a waste of time for me.

same here :rotfl2:

No. DH works nights and gets home from work about 45 minutes before I leave for my own job. He's just going to bed as I'm getting up, so the bed is still in use! I get home about when he wakes up, and there isn't much point to make it up for the few hours before I go to bed that night.
