Do You Love Your House (Insp. by robinb)

I LOVE my house. It isn't decorated yet since we are still getting settled in after almost a year. I'm in the process of making it my own by painting, tiling and changing some things to suit my taste.

The best thing about our house is the yard and setting that it sits in. Although we are in a neighborhood, it's very wooded and we back up to a pond. There isn't another house behind us, only a fabulous view of the pond.

My children enjoy looking for turtles, frogs, fishing and watching the ducks, birds and creatures that call the pond "home". It's a source of constant fascination for my 4 year son (and my 37 year old husband). I wouldn't want to live anywhere else.

I live in a ranch house built in 1965. That's about the time that central a/c was becoming widely used, so somehow the designers thought that windows were no longer that important.

This house has a very few really small windows. The whole back of the house (it's very long) has one sliding glass door and 2 very small windows.

This was also before walkin closets became so popular. The closet space for a house with almost 3000 square feet is pathetic. The master bedroom has two very small closets.

On the other hand the dining room is enormous - you could practically have state dinners in there. The front entry has almost 200 square feet. Not the best use of the space for today's needs.

I hate yard work (or paying for it) so the nice big yard is wasted on me. I lived in condos for years and detest the fact that I have to deal with a deck that is rotting and exterior paint that needs to be redone.

I would love a 2000 square foot condo or townhouse with good closets and storage.

Yes Karen! You should do a thread like Diane's! I have one going for our house. Even if it's boring for other's to see, it's fun for me to look back at the thread and see the progress. I need to take some more pictures this weekend as the outside is finally looking different!

I love our house! We stopped by Celebration to visit the models and fell in love with this one - the Arabella. The more we thought about it the more we knew that the floor plan was perfect for our lifestyle, and DH had gotten a job offer - so making the decision to move was hard but made easier by the fact that we could have this house. And this town is just so much fun to live in.

We've lived here for almost three years and the only thing I ever complain about it that with the open floor plan there are no walls to hang pictures on! I've learned to live with this flaw.

If I had to move somewhere else I'd have to have this very same house.
