What area do you live in? How long does it take you to get to the park each day? And do you travel by car, bus or shuttle?

Windermere. South on Maguire, East on Conroy, South on Apopka Vineland (535) right into Downtown Disney :cool1:
Car just kind of knows where to go. :confused3 :teeth:

Drive time 8 minutes if traffic allows. 10-12 if I hit every light on Apopka Vineland

I'm 50 miles west on I4! I take the car, since the high speed railway is not being built anytime soon!

This is the "shuttle" I take to WDW. DH and I zip down the new Polk Parkway and are at WDW in 38 minutes. :teeth:

I'm to the north and it takes me about an hour and twenty minutes. Once the roads are opened going out the south end of The Villages it will be about an hour. Right now I have to take a slow drive up to 466 and over to and down 301 to the Florida's Tpke.. New roads being finished soon will let me go out the bottom end to 466A and will cut a good 15 minutes off the trip.

:teeth:

Yeah, just down the street and a few hundred miles away.

If I want to go to DTD, I just take CR535. It takes about 10 minutes. If I want to go to MK or the MK resort area, I take Reams road. I can be there in 5 minutes.

While it is hard to believe, I don't go to the parks every day. In fact, I maybe go once or twice a month to a park. I go to DTD several times a week.

Me Too! Just a couple of turns & we are there.

Stay on I-75 for a day or so....hit florida state line...stay on I-75 till we hit the turnpike & follow the signs for disney. :p

I'm about 25-40 miles away. Depends on the route I take. I DON'T do I-4!

My back route involves many roads including Old Grade, Deen Still and Ronald Reagan Pkwy. There are times when I cross over I-4 in Lake Alfred that I don't see another car on the road until I get to Rte. 27. This really is the road less traveled! It's takes me nearly twice as long as I-4 but I don't feel like having a nervous breakdown by the time I get to WDW.

We've now been here 15 months and I visit sporadically. I still get the giggles when I drive onto Disney property though. :goodvibes

I live 12 miles from MK and Epcot. I jump onto I-4 and am there in no time. I spend quite a few days in the park during the year. I love it. Haven't grown tired of it yet.

I hate you all ;) :rotfl2:

Seriously, I think I would die of happiness if one night I was sitting in my living room. Hungry. Wondering what to do for dinner. And then just decided to jump in my car and head over to Blue Zoo for a drink and appies. Or, run over to Tangerine Cafe for a quick bite. Nah. "Honey, call Jiko and see if they have any openings tonight. And if they are full, buzz the California Grill and see if they can fit us in......."

You all realize how lucky you are, right? :goodvibes

I think this mostly happens the first year or 2 after you live in Orlando. Then, you start to think about, "do I want to fight the traffic and crowds, will
I find a parking space that isn't 25 blocks away if we go to a movie (AMC@DD) after 8 pm?" thoughts like that. Before you know it, you're on the way to the Chinese restaurant in the neighborhood you live in.

We tend to frequent Epcot most often for that very reason. We decide to run over to get something to eat. We aren't picky about which restaurant, so we always get in somewhere. We eat at DTD restaurants at least twice a week.

I don't want to derail this thread but since all of you "Orlando people" are tuned in, can you tell me what the heck is going on around there.

My mom just drove down to Florida last week for a spur-of-the-moment vacation. She went to St. Augustine and Sarasota.

She decided that she wanted to stop at Disney and have dinner at Boma. She had been absolutely craving it since our June trip.

Anyway, she absolutely could not get a reservation (she called a day ahead). So she gave up that idea. Then she decided to drive around the Disney property and the DTD area. She said it was just so congested she could hardly get anywhere.

Now we were just there in June and I don't recall traffic like that. She was astounded. And what's up with not being able to get into a restaurant on a weekday in January?

Takes me 20 minutes to get to DTD.

We don't go all that often to be honest though. We tend to go more often when there are festivals. Sometimes we'll go down to eat at one of the resort restaurants. But the longer we're here, the more restaurants we find right in our neighborhood that are very good, and cheaper than Disney (even with DDE).

We do enjoy ourselves when we head over there, but I would say we aren't down there more than once a month...if that.

I'm apprently the furthest away of all us florida disney nuts.

It takes 2-2 1/2 hours for me. I75-I4 Exit 62, and I'm there.

We have year passes and go at least once a month. With 2 big overnight trips (as in more than 1-2 nights) for my birthday in april, and for my moms birthday in decemeber

Luckiest people on the planet.

Hey anyone in o-town looking for a roommate ;)

We are about a half hour away, door to door... Since we just moved here, you just KNOW we spent yesterday at the parks!

Tracy

I have about a 90 mile drive. We drive I-4.

We stayed at CSR last weekend for DH's B-day and we are going back to CSR this weekend for DD's B-day.

And another CSR trip planned with a Girlfriend for her B-day the First weekend in March.
