Do you like Wii Epic Mickey?

I don't know if I should jump on the Amazon deal of the day or not
$29.99 is hard to pass up, but will it get any use?

We got it for our daughter for Christmas (she turns 12 next week). She has tried playing it, but it gets the most use from my husband and I. We both absolutely love it, it's very fun! I think if you got it for her, it would be good to get her the strategy guide. I think once we get that, our daughter will play it more. There's a lot to the game.

I got it for my 9 yr old son for Christmas and assumed he'd be so frustrated w/ it that he wouldn't last w/ it very long. But he's actually doing ok w/ it. I think the key here is that I don't let him play it all the time so he has time to wind down from it for a bit so when he goes back to play it, he's not still frustrated from the last time.

I have 8 yo twins, they love it, as does my 15 yo. I haven't tried it. I wish it weren't a 1 player game, that has caused some fights!

DS (7) is a video game freak and really likes it. We got it for him for Christmas and he has enjoyed it and is doing pretty well with it.

Really not as much as we hoped we would. It gets pretty frustrating pretty easy. Husband who is an avid gamer hates the camera view and declared it's "Game of the Year" status "a joke".
It's not horrible, and I can't even put my finger on what it is that I don't like, it just not my favorite.
That being said, everyone likes different games and for that price I would try because you might really enjoy it

If you all go to the for online Disney games board here on the Dis, looks like there is lots of help there for those that get frustrated.

DS8 likes it but gets frustrated too.

Love the game mostly for all the in-jokes about Disney World past and present. However, I don't think many people who aren't a disney freak (like myself) would get it.

For kids, the camera thing is incredibly frustrating (as a grown up I just keep moving and adjusting).

This. We are not gamers but I am here to tell you the camera is aggravating It is a frustrating game. DD8 has only played it a bit. However, I cannot stop playing Even though it drives me crazy, I think it is fun.

Was on my Amazon wish list for Christmas. Didn't happen, so I decided to take Amazon up on their $30 deal today.

We don't play our Wii too much but for $30 I thought it was worth a try. $20 is usually the price point for where we would buy a game, but $30 for a newish one that I'm on the fence pushed me over the edge.

I am with others on this game. I have a DS 11, DS 6 and myself that have been playing. We all get frustrated with it but when that happens we switch off. It is a one person game but we all get into. I think it can be a bit dark in some areas which leads to some frustration then we lightened the screen some. It is a huge game and someone mentioned the guidebook...might do that but I have been using some ot webpages devoted to the game. My kids dont know that then I come up with the answer they think I am super cool...

DD8 and DD16 both love it. Although like a PP said, we too wish it were a 2 player game.

I finished playing the "paint path," yesterday. Not sure if I will go back and do the "thinner path" and finish collecting the pins that you get for doing thinner quests.

I actually started the game, and then was frustrated that I skipped so much, that I restarted the game. The 1st time I was very frustrated by the camera angles. When I went through the 2nd time it was better. I learned how to manipulate it better. Although, I continued to be frustrated that often Mickey would shoot paint down at his feet, instead of at the enemy. Usually, when I was trying to shoot at an enemy below me. I could see the target on the enemy, but it would still shoot at Mickey's feet.

As for the actual game play, I found it easier to advance than Mario Galaxy and similar games. I did not die nearly as often, especially on the "boss" levels. The Mean Street quests can be somewhat tedious, I don't know if a kid would find them fun, or get annoyed by the run here, run there, run back here, etc.

I think, overall, I enjoyed the game, but they really do need to work on camera angles if there is a sequel.

I found it frustrating and gave up. My husband took over for a bit and got frustrated and gave up. My 8 yr old got us a little further but then he too gave up. I love the concept with the paint, the camera is not so horrid in my mind as I have seen worse, but I expected it to be a little easier to play for longer. I keep meaning to try again and maybe start at the beginning but never get there.

Friends of ours bought it as well. Dad & daughter played one day after Christmas but also got frustrated and gave up never making it as far as we did.
