Do You Like To Cook?

OP here. Yes...the Salted Caramel Apple Bars are the one from Pinterest. They turned out great which I was happy about because sometimes the pictures are better than they taste.

For some reason, I can't upload the recipe. BUT...it is on SallysBakingAddiction site or just do a search on Pimterest and it will pop up.

I love cooking and baking. I spend a lot of free time and breaks at works reading and going through new recipes.

Yes, I've always enjoyed cooking and I think I'm pretty good at it. Not haute cuisine, but relatively simple things. I'm always trying new recipes too and like to experiment.

Tonight was salsa chicken. Boneless chicken breasts, mild salsa mixed with some brown sugar and dijon mustard. Side of orzo cooked in chicken broth, with pecorino romano cheese and fresh parsley.

I don't do much baking. Christmas cookies and the occasional cake.

DH also cooks about once a week. Other than during vacations, we only eat out about twice a month and rarely get take out. Maybe a pizza twice a year.

I have at least 100 of my mother's cookbooks. Some were my grandmother's.

LOVE cooking but am not as good with baking, mostly because I don't care to follow directions ;) I do get the baking bug occasionally, esp late at night for some reason, but it's a fairly infrequent occurrence.

Yep I enjoy cooking. I'm pretty messy though and never follow instructions especially when adding alcohol to recipes

I can also bake but it's a little hit and miss sometimes :rolleyes1

cleaning up is a drag, my dishwasher is a lifesaver though.

Nope. But I do like eating! ;)

HAHA. You and my spouse have been consulting I see. She hates to cook and likes to eat too. The one thing that I hate most about cooking is on Thanksgiving, I work most of the day on it. BOOM!! 20 minutes, it's eaten.

I only use recipes to alter them. My recipe book is like the half blood prince's potion book. No don't do that, do this.

I liove baking, but I don't really do much anymore because of my diet.

I think cooking dinner was more fun before kids when DH and I would do it together. Now we trade off and half of what we make the kids hate so they end up making themselves sandwiches or something. They only time I enjoy it now is for the holidays when the diet goes out the window.

I like to cook and bake, but i pretend not to like it because I'm not very good at it. Sure, I can follow a recipe, and have it taste good. But I cannot look at the cupboards and come up with ideas for what to do with what is in there.
I'm visual too, I have to see the finished meal before I will think about trying the recipe. If my mouth doesn't water when I look at it, I skip it.
I'm also afraid of criticism. Even though my husband and I like what I make, I'm hesitant to serve it to the extended family because some can be nit picky and too quick to criticize.

I love cooking and baking and am usually pretty good at it. I use recipes "loosely" and love to use company as guinea pigs. My daughter spends hours going over recipes and loves to bake - just starting to get into cooking now. The problem is neither of us likes to clean up. And I hate the prep - chopping, specifically. If I had a sous chef and dishwasher, life would be great.

I don't know that I actually like cooking so much but I absolutely LOVE feeding people :goodvibes. Sadly for me, over the years my DS has become impossible to nurture through food - he's a junk-food junkie and would just really rather have take-out or frozen pizza than anything I put on the table. Neither he or DH has much of a sweet tooth for baking. I guess in the long run that's OK as I work a lot of hours and don't cook a great meal every night. The fact that my family really couldn't care less relieves me from feeling guilty about it.

I end up doing a lot of cooking for other people and we entertain a fair bit. I put a lot of time, effort and emotion into it and get a lot of satisfaction that way.

I like to bake and cook, but the last few months I've just been "blah" about everything. It's from being stuck in the house because of the heat, I think (summers in FL), because I'm like this ever year around this time. Come October-ish, when we start to get the cooler weather, I'll perk back up and start up again.

I dread cooking in the summer. Standing in front of the cooktop when you're already hot sucks.

I don't mind cooking. Did all the cooking for 18 years out of necessity, I worked overnights, DW worked a day job, so I would have dinner ready when she got home. When DW and I both moved to an early AM shift, where we both are home all afternoon, she demanded to take back the cooking, she loves to cook and bake, and my waistline is the worse for it. :)

Way back when I was single I enjoyed cooking and loved baking. Now, married with kids? I hate everything about it - the grocery shopping, cooking and baking foods that everyone will like, cleaning up afterwards - hate it, hate it, hate it!

I enjoy cooking, when I have time for it. We're so busy during the week that I'll usually cook a Crock-Pot meal plus something in the oven or on the stove over the weekend, then we reheat leftovers during the week. Those typically last until Thursday, and then on Fridays and Saturdays we eat out.

No, I really don't like to cook. I do though and I'm pretty good at it but I just don't care all that much about food. I'm just as happy with a can of tuna and some cut up veggies as I am with a fancy meal

I really enjoy both cooking and baking, and cook nearly everything for my family from scratch. But sometimes it's hard, because I have a TINY 9x9 kitchen, not very much time (I work full-time outside the home), and 3 kids and 2 dogs who are always underfoot. Most of the time when I'm in the kitchen I'm rushing around like crazy trying to get things done. I try to tell myself that some day I'll look back on these days and miss them greatly, but in the moment it can be very frustrating!
