Do you like the hat at mgm studios?

I voted "NO". While I don't mind it too much I don't think it fits in with the original themeing of the park. I would love for the hat to be transplanted to the entrance for Fanatasmic. I think it is much better suited for the theater.

I hate the hat. If it was somewhere else maybe. But it takes up the whole view of Hollywood Blv. The theater should be the icon of the park IMHO.
It's too big, too.

The hat blocks the view of the Chinese Theater. The hand just looks stupid on Spaceship Earth.

I love the hat. I wish they had moved it more toward the right as you look at it from the front of the park rather than smack dab in front of the Chinese Theater. Now to get a good pic of the theater, you have to have a wide angle on the camera.

I really like it, I think it makes the park more "modernized" and I cringe when I look at that water tower. But as said before, I really hate the wand on top of Spaceship Earth at EPCOT.

the hat to me and my family is the "icon" of the park, not the mouse ears water tower. love the hat.

Gonz of Lancashire, I think you nailed it on the head. Those that have been to MGM before the hat, hate the hat. It's not the hat that I dislike, it's where they put it. Before the hat it was a beautiful "picture perfect" spot, now it looks cheesie. Don't even get me started on the hand on Spaceship Earth!

Don't like the hat at all. Would have been much better placed in another location of the park that didn't completely take away from the theming of the street and the view of the theater. As someone else said, it would be like placing a huge 'icon' in front of Cinderella Castle blocking the view of it from Main Street...just not a good idea.

My DS took a picture of it from a distance enough that he got the entire hat and gloves as well as a BONUS....in the distance as you look right at the hat all the characters had come out at that same time...so I have the HAT and many Characters....YEAH!!!

I have it as my computer screen saver.

When people stop by they all comment on my screen saver and are really shocked when I tell them DS took the picture. It is so clear and colorful!

YUP!!! I am loving the HAT!

Every Theme Park has it's own icon. And this is a perfect one for MGM because it's all about the movies. And in Fantasia Sorcer Mickey wore this hat so it's really cool.

I don't know. In and of itself, I like the hat. But to me, the Chinese theater was always the icon of the park, so it seems so weird to plunk something down right in front of it. It's almost as bad as plunking down a giant hat in front of Cinderella's castle.

Plus, now that we had our wedding reception in GMR, I love the Chinese theater more than ever!

But I do love Sorcerer Mickey, and I like the hat... I just wish they had done something else with it.

The hat ruins the old Hollywood feeling that was there before. If they relocated it and elevated it to somewhere in the back of the park, it wouldn't bother me as much.

I am anti-hat. I don't think I would mind it so much if it wasn't in front of the great movie ride....it sort of ruins the vintage hollywood theme - and anyway - the theater is so beautiful! It shouldn't be hidden!
