I too think it should be for only the resort guest. but they did not start out that way and now they can not take that free perk away. if this was the policy then fastpasses for soarin would not go away by noon. (even in Sept. or Jan like it does now.)

i use it a lot, when i need it.. however, sometimes during the busiest time, you have to wait like 3 hours to use the fast pass. it would be nice to just wait an hour or two at the most.

one time i had to wait about 3 hours. so i said to the kids let's go back to our resort for a little while and come back to go on peter pan. we went back and swam, and never came back out again.

Love fastpass, and I'm very glad that it's open to everyone and not just resort guests. I would be very disappointed to see them change this to just be a resort guest offering.

OOOOOOHHHH yes!!!! Been there done that one too. I have also given away my fastpasses because they were so far out, I knew I wouldn't make it back. Usually because we had an adr booked or were getting tired.

I do have to admit I wish that they were limited to resort guests. I will also cast my vote to include passholders. Between these 2 groups alone, FP would be kept busy. There are certainly plenty of us to go around.

Fast Pass is great, like doing other things while waiting to ride instead of standing in line, saves time so get more done. :woohoo: :cheer2:

I think FP is great! It enables us to go on more rides and manage our time better during the busy season.

I really enjoy having the option of using a fastpass. Sometimes during the less crowded visits we still get one and come back to ride during a busier time of day with little or no wait.

Okay, earlier in the thread it was posted that FASTPASS is good, but hardly needed during the slow value season - some FASTPASS machines seemed not even to be working.

Then, a few posts above, I read this...

WOW!

We're going the week after Labour Day (arriving on the 5th, starting our 5 days in the parks on the 6th).

The last time I was at WDW was back in '98 - just me and the wife, late September (when hurricane Georges went through). We waited in line for almost nothing.

Have things changed that much?

For those who have gone in September recently - I hope you can answer this...

Which rides/attractions often require the use of FASTPASS even during the Value Season (like September)?

Fast Pass - Love it! As a kid, I remember waiting forever for rides like Peter Pan - usually in the July heat! I am so glad that my 2 and 5 year old don't have to wait 1 hour for a 4 minute ride! :thumbsup2

I like it, but I'd like to see the time window "enforced". Maybe it would be necessary to increase the normal time window period a little to help ensure everyone has the opportunity to use their FP under this scenario. We waited in standby late in the evening and the FP line did not get any shorter for around 15 minutes; therefore, very little movement in the standby line. My theory is that many of these FP riders were riding after their designated times but I could be wrong...

We LOVE Fast Pass!! Combine it with Extra Magic Hours and we hardly ever wait in line.

I love it as it is now! I don't see any reason to limit it to resort guests only...if you understand how it works, and don't mind a little back and forth walking, you can really do well with it.

I remember when I didn't know about the fast pass system...I felt like a second-class citizen waiting in the standby line!

I personally HATE the fastpass system. Look what it has done to the lines. It has shortened them to a point where you don't have to stand in line for hours with dozens of smelly, sweaty people who scream at kids who are running around and screaming at the top of their lungs.

Who does Disney think they are? Don't they know waiting in line is an American Institution! Heck they don't even charge for the fastpass system! How revolting to get a such a perk for free.

I think it should be abolished. Its unconstitutional. :teeth:

Maybe I'm in the minority here... and don't get me wrong, I love to have a fastpass in hand... HOWEVER, I wish the fastpass system was limited to disney resort guests only. There was rumor of a "heirarchy" that disney might institute into the fastpass system (i.e. guests staying at a deluxe resort would get a better return time on their fastpass than a guest staying at a value.) I'm not so sure I'd take it this far... but it might not be that bad of an idea either :confused3

I would be ok with it being for resort guests only, however as far as getting better times or anything else special because you are staying at a deluxe, I wouldn't like that. What about the families who save for a long time and are only able to afford a value resort? Why should they be treated different because they have lower finances?

I definately agree! I love the FastPass system, and have used it since it first started. A fastpass is easy to obtain, and pretty easy to use. Not to mention the feeling of just breezing through the line at WDW is priceless! Although it would be nice to limit the fastpass for resort guests, they already have EMH in place and other perks for all those who stay onsite. I think the fastpass system is fine the way it is, and really does not need too much tweaking. Except like someone said above...allowing only valid fastpass times in the line, no expired ones. As far as giving out the better fastpasses to the deluxe hotels....that is in no way fair, and I would hope that this would not happen. I have stayed in all classes of hotel, and would personally be offended if I was not able to obtain a certain fastpass because I was staying at POFQ or ASMo, instead of the Poly. If you want a better time for your fastpass, then make sure to wake up early to get to the park and get one.
