Reflecting on semantics and word choice this morning. I know board-ers like to shortcut how they talk about eligibility for perks with color because of multiple varying restrictions based on year purchased. But the whole blue card/white card bothers me in a general way that labels rather than describes. The whole “color” thing brings up separation of black and white groups and kinda surfaces negative connotations for me. One with less privileges as the other. In my imaginary world, I prefer something else to describe it. I don’t know what, because it can’t be as simple as direct and resales. Maybe DVC Members with required DVD points vs. DVC members. I don’t know what the answer is. Open to discussing because maybe it’s just me.
