affect your decisions for which park to visit on a particular day?

I had a schedule planned, but according to TGM's predictions -- I'll be heading for some crowds ...

Looking for opinions on how much weight to give his recommendations?

Going mid January (over MLK weekend) .... we usually go in July, so I'm not too worried about the January crowds.

Thanks

TGM DOES know from first-hand experience . We have a few threads about this on the board already. Although I'm sure when he says it's going to be busy, he means busy FOR JANUARY. That's my guess...

Since most people on this board don't subscribe to TGM and those that do agree not to publicly discuss his information, you should post your question in the TGM forums on his site.

Good luck.

What is his website? I did not know he had boards over there too. It would be interesting to read them.

I could not find boards on his site.

I wasn't asking anyone to discuss the details of his recommendations, I would like to know how helpful they found the information and if it REALLY helped avoid crowds.

You have to be a member to go to his boards actually, okie.

justcruisin, click on AVP Community. Everyone would be happy to discuss it there.

I've used TGM twice and found some of his info great. In addition to the DIS I've have great touring experiences. :goodvibes

We just returned from 6 nights / 7 days at CBR. By following TGM’s recommendations we were able to do and see everything we wanted avoiding both long lines and crowds. We “winged it” on purpose the first day as a comparison and the results were dramatic.

A bit of background here as I’m a new member of this board. One component of my job as Regional Sales Manager for a major horticultural distributor was the planning and execution of sales meetings. Some of these were held at “resort type” locations as the budget allowed. Spouses and children were included at times. We packed a lot of information for the sales force into these meetings and keeping these as “stress free” as possible was paramount as well making the most efficient use of our time. (downtime included)

With the above being said, I found the information at TGM to be outstanding. We followed the basic recommendations after going through the “process” of deciding what we wanted to see while at WDW. In every case we did what we wanted to do without waiting in long lines (10 minutes tops for the whole week) and weren’t mired in elbow to elbow crowds at all. In fact we were through by shortly after lunch freeing the afternoons for some R&R before the evening’s activities. The end result was a wonderful week at WDW without feeling of a commando style raid.

There’s no doubt in short order you’ll be seeing posts by those very much opposed to spending any money on a service such as TGM. If indeed those posters used the service and feel they didn’t get what they were promised, that’s fine. However, if in fact they have not used the service, those post have no credence other than an opinion of how to go about touring in general. (IMHO)

From a time management / cost effectiveness point of view, TGM is a great place to garner the information needed to make the most of your time at WDW. Is it an absolute must or you’ll have a rotten time without it? Surely not. Are there other ways to go about planning your trip? Yes there are. This site has tons of information as well. I enjoy reading here and find new things daily. But again, from a “how long do I really want to sit at the computer and research the trip” point of view, TGM works for me.

Mike

I've only been to WDW once and I did use TGM's recommendations for best days. So I don't have anything to compare to. But it worked great for us. We were there the first week of May this year (during the kickoff of the celebration) and we never waited longer than 10 minutes for any ride.

Once you log in to the Tour Guide Mike site, look towards the top of main page. You'll see a small box on the left side---"AVP Forums". That will get you to the message boards. You can also join a "Vacation Club" that is particular to the month you are travelling. FYI--The boards are no where near as active as thes boards so you may have to wait for a reply.

I recently joined myself and changed some of my plans according to his recommendations. I figure that's what I'm paying him for! MLK weekend does get busy even if it is in January! I'd go w/ his advice! Kathy :earsgirl:

Check out the forum with all the Vacation Reports. They are by real people who used his plans. I think you'll find that helpful! :goodvibes
