Ours are on a remote control. They go off when we go to bed.
The only night they stay on all night is Christmas Eve. The kids think it helps Santa find his way!
Our lights are plugged into a power strip, which goes to an outlet connected to a switch. (normally a lamp is plugged in there). All we have to do to turn the tree lights on and off is...flip the switch.
We turn them off when we go to bed.
I hadn't thought about leaving them on all night on Christmas Eve, but since we're up WAY later than the kids that night (they have to go to bed so "Santa" can come) the kids wouldn't know if we'd turned them off or not!
I always unplug the tree, and all other holiday lights around archways, etc. before we go to bed. And unplug them if we go out for the evening too. I wouldn't feel comfortable at all leaving them plugged in when no one is around.
No. I'm way too afraid of something happening overnight and them catching fire. I do turn them on every evening when I'm home, but they get turned off before I go to sleep.
The LED lights outside on the deck stay on all night, though.
All lights get unplugged.. well we have a foot switch with a long cord (Target) love it and the outsides lites have a remote control so I dont have to run out there when its cold LMAO
I have always, not just christmas. Used timers...I use them on my porch, my cabinets, christmas window candles and trees. I cannot be bothered to put them off. maybe more that I just do not have the time! lol

I turn off all the inside lights off as well, the tree and mantle light are on a remote so I just have one button to push so I don't have to crawl to unplug them. The other various lights are easy to unplug.
