Hello Everyone! :flower3:

:surfweb: I'm curious as to why after you pay your deposit it takes 7-10 business days to hear from who your assigned Wedding Planner/Coordinator is? Do you know why? What is going on behind the scenes? Is the Planner and Coordinator the same person...just interchangeable title? Interesting....thanks! :thumbsup2

Maybe because they do assignments based what your choices are for locations?

I believe they only do planner assignments once a week (i think on wednesdays) but not sure. It also takes a day or two after they get your contract to get things organized so if they receive your contract on a tuesday you may need to wait until the following weeks assignment meeting. We got our planner 8 days after our consultant got the contract!

The reason is that DFTW does 1,500+ weddings a year (think of it as 125 per month or about 30 per week ) and they have had an already small staff reduced even further since the beginning of the year.

Your planner and your coordinator are working on dozens of other weddings simultaneously. They have to devote the majority of their attention to the weddings that are happening the soonest. But this means that the closer you get to your event, the more attention you'll get, so never fear! :goodvibes

Here's a breakdown of the job titles - your consultant is different than your planner:

When you make your first call to Disney’s Fairy Tale Weddings, you’ll speak with a Sales Lead Associate, who will take down your contact information and answer basic questions.

You will then be assigned a Wedding Consultant. He or she acts as a sales manager, overseeing the contract and all related details, including availability of locations and site visits, the room block, and the deposit.

Although your Wedding Consultant will be responsible for these details throughout the planning process, after the contract is finalized you will be assigned either a Wedding Event Planner (Wishes/Couture events) or a Wedding Services Coordinator (Escape Events), who will become your main contact for the details, options and add-ons.

That was a "duh" moment for me

Thanks Carrie for clarifying the roles.

The initial delay in finding out who your planner is due to the reason disneygal922 mentioned - typically they meet once a week to assign couples to their planner and the day of the week can vary based on schedules of the team. I know we waited almost a week after our contract was signed and received.

After that it is dependent on each planner's schedule and as Carrie mentioned the entire team is quite busy!
