Birthday party invitation for my DS's 8th birthday party? I can't seem to find any. He wants the American Flag theme at his party. We will be having it at a Bowling Alley & I secured their lounge (which is not in use during the day) for our party of about 35 people (16 of those are children). They offer a birthday room but then you have to be crammed in with other families & it is too loud & not personal. Having the use of the lounge, I can decorate anyway I want. I've already got the favors for the kids who are attending (Patriotic water bottles with a patriotic pinwheel & a 4 x 6 flag fastened to the water bottle with ~ you guessed it ~ patriotic garland! We already have the white tablecloths, red plates, blue napkins & cups & will order red/white/blue balloons & a Flag b-day cake but I still need the invites & can't find any!!! HELP!!!

Thank you jamsmom & debster 812. Those links led me to beautiful Patriotic invitations but ouch.....a little more $$ than I wanted to spend. I'm still hoping to find a pack of 8 invites for about $3.

In my head I can picture just a simple flag with all the info lines inside for us to fill in. Or Uncle Sam pointing his finger straight ahead & the caption saying "I WANT YOU" & once you open the card it would have a space to write "to join us bowling Nicholas' 8th Birthday Party, etc...."

I should design cards!!!

Wal-Mart had blank flag cards last year foar around the price you're wanting.

A bit more than a package of 8 for $3.00 but when I was working on care packages for Iraq, I found one .99 greeting card at Hallmark which had a large American flag on the front and was blank inside. Since you already have an idea as to what you'd like to have an invitation say, you could easily print something up and put it on the inside of the greeting card.

When my sons want a theme that isn't available in an invitation we just make our own, importing pictures off the internet. We make them on a full sheet and then fold them in thirds and put them in a business size envelope. It's great because you don't have to fit your info into prefab'd spaces - you can say whatever you want.

Thank you all for your input. I did order some party favors from Oriental Trading Post (Patriotic Pinwheels & 4 x 6 Flags to attach to Patriotic Water Bottles I picked up last year at Walmart for 10 cents each ) but they didn't have any invitations.

My DH thinks the closer it gets to the 4th of July, the better chance I'll have at finding flag invitations but the party is June 28th so I want to mail them out at least 2 weeks prior & I just hating till the last minute for something so important as my DS's b-day party!! You mom's know how extra special those days are, right??

Anyway, if you think of anything else, (or anywhere else) please post. Otherwise, thanks so much for all your suggestions. I like the one about making my own too.....hmmmm

I think Hallmark carries some Patriotic invitations.... we carry them. Check your local Hallmark.... or a drug store that carries the line....

My idea was to get a stamp from a stamp place that has the usual inside invite info and stamp it inside cards that you either bought or made on computer. Another idea is buy the invite kits at micheals or Etc. and make them like I did my wedding invites.

Try Office Depot, they have r/w/b paper and paper with flags. You could print your own with that paper.
