I know it is some kind of computerized testing that was done at the pediatric neurologist. Can anyone tell me more about it? What do the results indicate, etc.
Thanks

Are you sure that the name of the test isn't a 'nerve conduction test/study'?

If it's done by a neurologist, this is the only type of test that I can think of.

If so, I have had this test done and I'm actually going to have another done on April 24th. I would be happy to answer and questions or concerns regarding it should you have any. :)

This was a test my dd did on a computer. Does that ring a bell?

A test on a computer? No sorry, it's definitely not the same test. A nerve conduction is when they send various shocks to your nerve to read the length (or rather 'how fast') the path travels to take the message to the brain.

I've never heard of a neurotract test and I can't find anything on it. :confused3 Sorry.

I had the wrong spelling. It is a Neurotrax test and I did find that on Google. It is a cognitive function test.

So what happened Denise? Any results from the test yet??

Well, yes. He said it was "significantly abnormal." But I'm not really sure exactly what that means. He wants her to have an EEG and a neuropsych evaluation so I have those scheduled for this month. Thanks for asking, and if anyone knows what these results could mean... :confused3

Don't worry, all they are doing now is 'testing more'. 'Abnormalities' in regards to activities in the brain can be one of a thousand things.

An EEG is completely pain free. :) They are simply recording the speed of electrical signals to the brain.

A Neuropsychological Evaluation is when the brain is assessed for potential dysfunctions. Including: attention, memory, visual-spatial functioning, language skills, higher level problem-solving, visual-motor speed and coordination.
