Do you know "people"?

Went to dinner at a very fancy restaurant the other night with some people.
An hour wait
Placed one call and we got seated right away.

Love it when a plan comes togther!

Mind you I was in a fancy restaurant over the weekend and they sat us straight down so maybe I am 'people'????

I know people. I love knowing people, it's so much fun. Wanted to do a show in Reno, called my "people" got show tickets, meet and greets and a free hotel stay at the Silver Legacy. Of course my "people" in this case worked with the show I wanted to see....lol

Hmm, where I live there are no 'people' (or maybe we're all people). But we don't really have restaurants or shows that you would need 'people' to get into either.

I know 'people' who called the staff at Philly zoo and I got a huge behind the scenes tour of all their holding areas...does that count?

Personally, I'm firmly in the "just gonna have to take a seat and wait your turn" camp.

On the other hand, I know mechanics and men who can fix darn nearly anything that can break. And this, to me, is FAR more valuable than knowing people who can get me a seat somewhere.

I am one of the "people" Not quite sure how it happened but it did....

I was at an event once with my husband, we were running late so there was very little seating left. The person running the event looked at me and told me she "knew I was somebody", then had us seated in the VIP section..........

Yes, I was one of those people, too. When my son's team came down to play MSU (son is one of the coaches) last week a lot of people called me to see if I could land them tickets.

According to DH's friends, he is "one of those people" Every time we go to his favorite store, he comes out with the sweetest deals. They all swear that he has the super secret code word, secret hand shake, the secret wink-nod combo or what ever the secret is to getting into the "special" back room, where the super sweet deals are made.

DH knows people. It has been very nice at times, from tables in restaurants, to admission to private tailgates with free food and drink at football games, to luxury suite tickets to concerts. Of course, he always reciprocates, so he is also the "people" other people know. Sometimes it really pays to be in the service industry; the people like to take care of each other!!!!
