My grandmother taught me this. If you are talking about someone, always add bless their heart. That way it is constructive critizism. If you don't add bless their heart it is just gossip. I am not saying I agree or believe it, but a lot of older folks here in the south do.

lol yep that phrase and the other one "God love him/her" as in Betty is such a tramp, God love her You can say anything to someone in the south as long as you say either phrase.
