My cake topper had the bride thrown over the groom's shoulder or should I say the curly haired barbie over the G.I. Joe's shoulder on top of our cake. We thought it was pretty funny and that was how my Dh carried me from the reception.

I don't find toppers like this funny at all. I find them insulting to the bride. If the groom is so reluctant why is he there at all? Doesn't bode well for the marriage if he's treating it as a death sentance or the bride is forcing him. JMHO

Because it's all done in jest. DH and I joke all the time how different we are after marriage compared to the youthful days. It's called a sense of humor.
