We have a friend like that. When we were remodeling our home, we built a wall between our formal living room and dining room that has a big window opening in it with glass shelves to display
stuff. There is also a column in the doorway between the two rooms.
Before you knew it, she had her husband, a contractor, cut a hole between their kitchen and living room and she added a column in their doorway.
We next built a partial wall between our bar room and family room and we installed a saltwater fishtank. The tank is 55 gallons.
She had her husband retro-fit the hole that they made between the rooms so they could have a 75-gallon reef tank!
Fish tanks are alot of work, so their's didn't last through the year before they sold it at a fraction of what they paid for it. We still have ours.
I've often told my DH that I think we should put a shrunken head on a stick in our front yard to see if they put a mummy on a stick in theirs.
