I have downloaded all my CDs to itunes and have everything backed up. I am debating on if I should sell or donate all my CDs somewhere.

What has everyone done with their CDs?

I keep them. As much as we love computers, we understand the need to back up everything, you never know if everything may crash one day. :headache:

:cutie:

absolutely keep them! we had a bad crash and were able to get our purchased itunes library back, but had to restore all our cds from scratch

us too, keep them. We load them on the computer and then send them to our Ipods or phones. Three copies is enough, eh? BTW, we buy many fewer CD's now because we buy individual songs instead through Itunes or another source.

I keep them in my car which isn't I-tune ready. I know I am hopelessly old fashioned:upsidedow

Yup have almost all of them. But I store mine in binders and they haven't taken over shelves upon shelves.

Plus I don't have an I-pod port in the car. I've been known to still buy CDs so I didn't have to burn for the car.

Keep them. It is your "proof" that you own them.

In addition you don't need an "ITUNES" ready car?;) You can just go out and buy blank CDs and make you own playlist to burn. That way you can store your originals and if you trash your burned CDs, you just burn more.

I kept all mine, and probably a good 1/3 of my iTunes I have borrowed from the library. I listen to the cds in the car and I still buy the CDs from my favorite artists! If there's some you wouldn't mind losing if anything crashes then I would donate them or sell them on amazon

I've kept about half of my collection. I hate clutter, so if the cd didn't have several tracks I listened to, it was discarded.

You are licensed to use the tracks you've ripped from your CDs only as long as you have the physical discs.

I have several thousand cds. While the concept of placing them away in a box has a little enticement, there's no way I'd let them go. Besides, approx. half of those discs I want to be able to lay my hands on at any time. I could see why someone with extremely limited space and a few dozen discs that could be replaced with a trip to Target might feel differently.:)

i loaded everything to my itunes and put them at my garage sale this past month. granted they didnt sell as well but ill take my chances in not owning them, i just had way too many to keep them, they are in a box now waiting for another garage sale or just sitting there. i have about 150gb of music so yeah i have ALOT of cds!

Yes, I keep mine. I just keep them in a cabinet, I don't really get them out once I have the computer, but I just like knowing they are there.

Hey, I still have my cassettes and records! So, of course I have my CDs.

I still have some of my cassettes too! I don't know why really because my favorites I have updated to CD, yet they are still in a shoe box at my parents house.

I stuck my old CDs, DVDs, and Blu-rays into cases like this. I keep the disc only, not the rest of the media. I use these as backups and proof of ownership. We almost never play media from the discs (the exception being our game consoles because I've been too lazy to learn how to defeat the anti-backup "protection" on those discs).
