Do you hope to retire somplace warmer?

I agree, north Texas is warm enough. We'll probably move further south though because we like being closer to the coast.

Besides it sounds like Florida will be way too crowded.

Retire? I can't see retirement! LOL! I'm trying to get OUT of FL and to another part of the country where I can make a decent buck and have a change of scenery and season.

DH retires from the military in a year and we will probably retire to the chilly northeast. However, once he retires from his next career Florida may be an option.

Retirement for us is still many years away, but it will DEFINITELY be somewhere warmer! We've actually been throwing around the idea of Mexico. But that could change several times between now and when we finally retire!

We are definatley leaving Ohio

for

Florida in 3 years.

We will both be retired in 3-4 years and be 51 yrs old.So hopefully we will many years to enjoy Florida. We have already checked out a few areas and have listed a final "4" areas we like the most.

1.Vero-Sabastian area
2.Melbourne
3.Orlando
4.West Palm Beach(sister just moved there)

Since we don't have to worry about jobs,schools,etc we will be able to see which of the above 4 places we like the most.

We have been talking about this for a few weeks, as soon as DS graduates from HS we want to go! Think FL might be too hot in summer, thinking of somewhere in the Carolinas. We won't be retired yet so will have to check out jobs first.

We absolutely want to move out of the freezing weather zones, but Florida is not even a remote possibility. Too much of a change. Way too hot in the summertime.

Feb. '07 is our targeted date for retirement and our move to Florida! We've been checking out different areas of Florida, but it seems that Orlando and the mouse are winning out. DH hopes to work p/t at Disney, I still would like to teach math p/t at a community college. We hope to always keep our Cape May NJ home, and probably will spend 2-3 months of summer there. DS and family live in Boston, and we've all enjoyed many many happy times at the Jersey Shore and look forward to more in the future.
