Do you hold yourself up to high standards?

I know I do. In school, 90s for me isn't good enough, it needs to be a 95+. I'm just that type of person - always determined to do the absolute best that I can. I don't like to slack off in school.
You?

ETA: Funny story, my sister is my opposite. My mom tells my sister "You have a 78. I'm not happy". My sister says, "Well Mom, I went up from a 77!"
:rotfl:

oooo I helped inspire a thread! lol

and YES

for really hard tests 90 or above.

if i know i studied a lot and i get a 90 im like super mad

but i try harder next time.

and i dont accept a gpa less than 3.5

or else id be kicked out of NSCS (National Society of Collegiate Scholars)

haha
my sis is opposite too lol

ughh no.
i hate studying. but i always do the homework, but none of my grades are in the 60's, i think 1 is in the 70's, few in the 80's and a couple in the 90's and one 100.
i just care if its below a 50 or 60.

Nope. As long as I pass, then i'm happy. My parents don't seem to mind either, which is good.

i HATE studying and i have a no study during weekends policy but i need to keep a 3.8 or higher gpa for my scholarship.

Same. As long as I'm not failing, then I don't care what my grade is.

I don't mind Cs. Cs are average. I don't mind being average.

ehhh... I dont actaully have HIGH standards, but I'm was blessed with a knack for getting good grades, so it's weird if I get below a 90.. but it doesnt phase me... :confused3

In junior high, I tried to drop my AP Geometry class because I was getting a 91. So yes, I hold high standards for myself.

Especially now, in college. I've been getting 100-110 on all of my tests, so my standards have risen even higher. If I get anything below a 100, I feel like a failure.

Yes. But I don't think anything below a 95 is considered bad. Wow.......that'll change I promise!!!

I can't believe someone would think that! :sad2:

Utterly rediculous.

I said "for me", specifically.

No I don't.
I used to be hardcore in middle school and now, I don't care.
I mean I still get good grades, but I don't strive for them. I can manage a 96 in Modern History, which is a grade 11 credit course, without paying any attention and giggling about Chuck Bass and how Kieran's hair doesn't move.
I don't pay attention to that tteacher, he's a joke.
I don't work in class, I refuse to. I do work that's I know is being checked or collected. Nothing more.
I don't like below 90's, but I'm alright with anything above 85.
I don't worry about that anyways, my grades in courses are always in the nineties, usually anyways.

If I can get atleast a 90, I'm happy.
I strive for 95+ but, an 85-90 makes me happy all the same.

GPA wise, I can't have anything below a 3.6. Weighted GPA right now is 4.0. I'm 64 out of 600 something kids in school. My friends are in the 30s but I dont mind.

In math class, however, I'm happy if I have a C. I'm no good at math, so I don't expect that I'll get an A or a B in that class, so I try not to stress myself out over it.

my grades are important to me, but if I get a 90 I'm not going to kick myself and be like, "it should've been 100!!"
I know I deserve every grade I get and I'm happy with all my grades right now.
I always do my homework and I always study.
My parents don't mind the one C I always get on my report card from Math because they know I struggle with it. Plus, C is average and that's 100% fine. (:

I used to. But I stopped caring. Now, my life is soo much more enjoyable. Sure, the grades are nice, but it matters most to me what I actaully learn. I have a C+ in Pre-Cal right now, and it's the hardest math class I've been in, but I'm happy with my grade because I am learning so much more than I ever have in a math class, and I know it will get me ready for Calc. What's important to me is how much effort I put in to deserve a grade.

I was talking about myself, personally. I have high standards for myself because I know I can make 100s on tests. The only reason I just 'accept' a B on a test is if I was sick that day.

I don't project my standards on other people, either. If someone gets a B, I think it's really great.

Oh, and I don't spend all my time studying either. I just pay attention in lectures, take notes, and try to understand the material.

i really sometimes dont care. but when i do bad i feel bad.
sometimes i just want to pass school and get it over with.
other times i actually study and do the work.

I wouldn't say I set too high of standards. In high school, I'd always like to get at least a C in math. In a history/social studies class or related I'd always like at least a B but would want an A because I knew the material.

Science classes it depended on what the topic was. I always kind of set myself up for a C in that class too, but the class I took my senior year (environmental science) was so easy I would have been very annoyed with myself if I got lower than an A unless there was a good reason.

My mom never cared what my grades were as long as she knew I was doing the best I could. If she knew I was being a huge slacker she would get on me a bit about it (like my junior year english class).
