a tattoo? and if so what is it and where (remember we are family oriented here) :) I am thinking of getting one to cover up a radiation tattoo I have-I would really like a Mickey Mouse with a palm tree.

This is mine :) It's on my lower back...I got it about 5 months after my 18th birthday, but unfortunatly I've had mixed feelings about it in the last year.
It's an original design-the center is the celtic symbol for angel (or so I was told by a few different people) and the tribal I took from another celtic/tribal combination I liked.

It's on my upper right thigh. It can only be seen when I wear a bathing suit! It was done over a stretch mark. Unfortunately, I would be covered in roses if I were to get more done!LOL

If you get one done, make sure it is at a reputable place. It was recently reported here in the TDot that one place doing them were not using clean needles! And in this day and age, you can never be too careful.

Good Luck with whatever you decide.

Yep, on my left shoulder blade, I have a red rose and in the center is a "hidden Mickey". Here is a shot of it just 5 hours or so after I got it (so it looks a little less red around the edges and has better shading). I wanted something like this for about 10 years and finally got it this fall... found a great place a wonderful artist... would definitely go back to him again!!!

I don't have one and never plan to, but the thought of putting a Hidden Mickey in one makes it seem much more appealing!

Well, I guess I will be the first to post that...no, I do not have a tattoo, and no, I will never get one. But to each his own:D

Helenabear's rose with the hidden mickey is pretty cool:smooth:

Yes I do have a tatoo, in fact I have two. The one on my right upper arm is of Mickey Mouse in a heart with my name written under it. The second one is ... well I cannot tell this is a family friendly board.

I've had both of my tatoos for almost 10 years now and I do not regret getting them at all. In fact the one of Mickey Mouse is my favorite and I get compliments on it all of the time.

yup!!! i have one, on my upper thigh. it is a garter belt of the moon and stars. i love it!!! i got it 4 yrs ago. i knew the guy that did mine and had seen his artwork. i still have as good color as i did when i got it.
if you are thinking about one....make sure it is something you will always want on you. ( they are expensive to have removed, but it is possible) and somewhere you can hide it. my personal rules for tattoos. this way when it isnt appropriate then you can hide it. nobody at work would even know i have mine if i hadnt said something about it. most people dont know i have one. i can wear shorts and you wont see it. also make sure that it is a reputable person/place. look at pics taken after the tattoo, but not immediately after! also make sure you see the artist take the needle out of the packaging. the guy that did mine changed needles quite often. everytime he set it down he got a new one.

good luck with your decision!

I agree with the having it some place you can hide it! Mines very low on my back, so some bathing suits even cover it. I ussually wear low rise jeans, but it's easy to hide when I need to.
Most people I know don't know that I have it, it's something very personal to me. I got it for me, not to show off or be trendy!
Mine took about 15 minutes, halfway through I got dizzy, then sick, they got me some soda and after that, it actually tickled!!!
Make sure they do a stencil on you first to check positioning/size...
My friend Kerri got one from a not-so-great place-they made it a LOT bigger than she wanted and the guy obviously wasnt very good because he told her he "Couldn't make it any smaller or the colors will bleed". Well, my brother got an EXTREMELY intricate pin-up girl on his leg with a LOT of color and very SMALL details...no bleeding...I think the guys was inexperienced. Do your research, if you can talk to people who have gone there, DO! and ask to see pictures!

I don't have a tattoo, and I have no idea if I could ever see myself getting one. But I do know exactly what I'd get if I did - I'd get a treble clef with a rose in it. And I really like Helenabear's idea of the hidden mickey, so I think I'd include that, too! Just as long as my parents can't see it.... :p

I don't, but my 25 year old DD does. :)

She had it done when she was 21 I think, a small red heart on her backside, easily hidden with clothes. She wasn't happy with it even from the first though. She wanted a nice, "fat" heart and she got a "skinny" one. :( I told her to go back to the guy and see if he could "fix it" but she never did. If I wasn't so chicken (cluck cluck) I'd have a pretty rose one. :teeth:

I have one on my ankle. It's a purple rose with a red heart next to it. I have had it about 10 years and have never regretted getting it.

It's really not for me but it's fun to read about all the variety of body art out there:earsboy:

Yup.........have a rose tattoo on, shall we say upper left chest. (lower than shoulder, but about halfway to b**b). Mine is about 30 yrs old and has faded, and the lines are not as sharp as they used to be. I didn't regret it until about 2 yrs ago, and am thinking of having it removed by laser. Maybe some day......;)

I have one on my right ankle...it's 2 pink daisys w/ leaves.. it's cute and small :p

DW and myself have 5 between us. No, we are not bikers or gang members.;) DW has three of them, Pooh and Tigger on calf, rose on other calf, and an ankle wrap(kinda like an ankle chain). I have a lion on one upper arm, and a tribal arm band on the other that my nephew for me. Pooh and Tigger are the ones that get attention, Tigger is looking up at Pooh as he floats with a balloon.
Yes make sure you know who you are going to. Some real shady people out there. Talk to other people who have them, and find out where they went. Even people you see with them, nobody would think anything if you asked them. I also think it's a good idea to put them somewhere that can be covered if need be. A lot of people still think the only people that get tattoos are bikers or gangs(comment above), although my MIL is 75, and she loves ours, so go figure.
