Do you have wallpaper in your home? Like it? UPDATE post 25!

I actually like wallpaper, but we probably won't be using it at all in this house, which was new when we purchased it. In our last house, we had to deal with a horrible mess in the kitchen. The previous owner had started to remove old wallpaper, then gave up and painted over what was left. Nothing short of a major renovation was going to make those walls look good.

I hate wallpaper-so outdated. .

Whenever I see wallpaper I think it screams 1970's LOL...especially that silvery looking one..I still remember having that in our bathroom when I was a kid!

I've taken wallpaper down in the kitchen, removed the remainder that was still in the upstairs bath although it had been painted there were still some remants. I actually bought wall paper to replace what is in the downstairs spare bath but after taking it out of the other rooms and facing the wallpaper I hate but dread removing in the master bath I decided that wallpaper was not going to to up anywhere! I bought paints the colors of the wallpaper and will use it.

Wallpaper can be pretty I just hate how hard it is to change.

Yeah, and I gotta tell you, I loved it when we built the house. Now, I hate it. I have paper in my kitchen and 3 three bathrooms (one is a powder bath). I am SO sick of it. My husband still likes it thought. I think I'm gonna rip it out and hire some one to texture the walls and paint....I want a mediterranean kitchen!

OP here: Our powder room remodeling project is done and it looks great. The wallpaper was almost impossible to get off, so we stopped trying. The contractor put "mud" over the wallpaper, then textured the walls, then painted; it looks fantastic!

We also had him scrape the "popcorn" off the ceiling. It looks so much classier. Now DH is scared that I'll want to do the whole house (which I do!)

when we bought our house in 1996, just about every room had some kind of hideous wall paper in it...it was complete PITA to get it all down, but when we remodeled our kitchen/dining area, we put up new wallpaper. It's really cute and I still love it. I'm sure eventually it will be "outdated" and I'll go through the pain of tearing it all down.
