Do you have to pre-purchase Cinematic Spectacular and Superstar Character Breakfast?

Hi! I'm planning our first trip to Universal and we are interested in going to the Cinematic Spectacular and the Superstar character breakfast. I see there is an option to pre-purchase these meals on the Universal site. I'm just wondering if I have to pre-purchase or can I simply make reservations at the restaurants and pay for the experience day-of?

I was able to book the Superstar breakfast on opentable, so I'm assuming I'm ok paying for that after we dine. Cinematic Spectacular doesn't seem to have that option - unless I can call the reservation in? I'll pre-pay if I have to, just didn't really want to spend the money beforehand as there seems to be no cancellation policy.

Thanks for sharing your experiences!

We did the breakfast this past August. I called, and they charged my credit card when I made the reservation. I did not ask about cancellation. If concerned, you should call. They are nice to get info from. I also booked a few months in advance and they gave me a number to call closer to confirm and pick my time. I think it was about 4 to 6 weeks out. You did not have to pick your meal until you check in. We had our reservation and name to check in. It was easy. We had a good time and saw quite a few characters. Hope this helps.
