Do you have to pay to ride Remy?

When I went last week, it wasn't nearly as competitive as Rise of the Resistance. I think I booked my VQ after 9am and my group window opened after 8pm. I'm sure I could have still paid for the LL but didn't need to.

Thank you very much!

Last week, we stayed onsite. I was up at 6:50, had the world clock on my computer running. Due to my not paying attention, we got BG 80, 11, and 50 over 3 days. Next trip I will do better.

Our flight lands as 7:26 am if it isn’t delayed. Are there typically still VQ spots open that long? If not, and we miss the 1pm slots, are there typically paid LL available in afternoon?

i got on today at 7:40 and got BG 100. It didn’t get called until 5:30 pm and we had dinner reservations so never rode it.

We were there last week and went to Epcot 2 days. The first day was the debut of Genie+ so I figured the 7 AM app would be a mess so I didn't even bother to try for a VQ for Remy at 7 AM. We watched the clock and right at 1 PM got in and got #123 which went around 6:45. The second day, since it was so easy to get one at 1, I again stayed sleeping at 7 AM and got on at 1 and we got boarding group 105 and rode around 5:30. This was for a party of 4. I didn't have high expectations as I hadn't researched it too much but we all really loved the ride. It was very unique technology.

Yes, the paid slots have not been selling out that early for Remy.

Getting the paid slot also gives you the advantage of having a specific return time instead of an estimated one, and might give you a significantly shorter wait when you get there.

It’s a matter of personal choice whether those advantages are worth the $10 or so per person that they cost.

I think so, is that right?

Hey Bobbi……
I’ve been watching this ride like a hawk with us leaving soon and I decided we’re gonna pay for it. As others said it’s good to pay so you have an actual time slot. Joining the VQ puts you in a situation where you don’t know what you’ll be doing when it‘s your time and then you have an hour to get there. I have seen that sometimes the ILL sell outs, so get it early. After I get back I hope to have more clarification on Genie+ & ILLs that I’ll be happy to share on the I’m thread or you can PM me :goodvibes

Looking forward to reading your report!

VQ has been available between 1 and 2-2:30 every day this week, although the return time is probably pretty late.

Last week, I didn't make a park reservation at Epcot. I ate lunch at Beaches and Cream and wandered over to Epcot at 2:25. I got back up boarding group 183 and rode about 9:00 pm, with a 10:00 pm park close. FYI.

Remy ILLS have not been selling out lately, and are often available for early afternoon return times. As an example, here is a screen shot taken shortly after noon time on October 28th, showing that Remy paid access was available for a boarding time less than 2 hours out. I'd still recommend trying for the free boarding group at 7 AM & 1 PM... but if you don't get a BG, Remy tends to have ILLS available most days well into the afternoon or evening hours.

Headed to WDW for marathon week. We are going to the parks after we run on Saturday and Sunday. The original plan was to just do one park/day tickets with Genie+. Figured by the time we got done running and cleaned up, it wouldn't be worth trying to hop and figure out the Genie mess with park hopping. Also, with EE being down at AK and the construction still happening at Epcot, just didn't seem worth it. But now the kids are saying they want to hop just to get on Remy. They don't care about anything else at Epcot. Contemplating if we do that or not. And if we do, better strategy to try for a VQ or just to break down and purchase a ILLS so that we know what time we will get on and we can plan our day around that.

So we've been twice in the last two weeks...once before Genie+ and ILL and once after. The first time, when VQ was the only path...the wait time was rough 10 minutes. This last time after the implementation it was closer to 40 minutes. I think there might have been a breakdown...but at the same time we were stoppee right at the standby/ILL merge. They let what seemed like 500 people go before us (probably closer to 30).

Summary...you don't need one if you get a VQ. But if it's $8 for ILL how much is 30 minutes of your time worth?
