Do you have to leave? EMH

EMH are a perk for staying on property. However, if EMH are during the later hours, how do they make people leave the park? Wouldn't it be easy to abuse this perk and just stay?

(We are staying on property. I was just wondering if the crowds would be smaller during late EMH). Thanks

Off-site guests can shop & dine during evening EMH. The CMs will scan your MagicBand/Card as you enter the line for an attraction to verify you are staying on-site.

I was really thinking about the crowds at nighttime attractions (fireworks, parades, etc..)

These are over by the time EMH starts, so anyone not eligible for EMH would only be shopping/eating once the later hours start.

Not always. In MK, it's not uncommon for MSEP to start at 11 when EMH starts at 11 (not that it will be an issue in a month)

Nighttime entertainment is open to every guest, whether or not it is EMH. Fantasmic! is another example - it may start 30 minutes into EMH but any guest is allowed to attend.

The only time I've seen something big like a show during EMH it is Fantasmic. From my understanding if a second showing of Fantasmic happens during EMH you are allowed to stay and see that but you can't do anything else. The reasoning is you could have gotten in line before park closing to see that show so you could stay.

Everything else you have to scan your magic band to ride or watch.

I will say this is one reason we prefer EARLY EMH to the LATE EMH. You can't get into the park during those early hours unless you are staying on-site (or have a PPO breakfast ADR). That makes the park seem less crowded, and the majority of people just don't get up early enough to get there. However, there are more things open during the late hours than the early hours, so that does help somewhat.

We always do morning EMH for the same reason, but I was wondering about going back to a park just for the evening entertainment (like Fantasmic!). I was afraid that the parks would be very crowded with people who were staying for the entertainment.

Depends on the night but they will start out larger, especially about 20-30 minutes after all the other parks close and a lot of people hop over to MK. It doesn't take long for people to decide they are done before the park is closed and it gets pretty empty pretty quick. That may not mean the rides have become less of a line though. Some of the longest lines on the strangest rides i've seen during emh. The kind where they are well past the building. I've also stood in tomorrowland alone during some so it can go either way.

I don't know that it would be an appreciably more crowded F! than other nights. The exception might be IF the late EMH night F! was later than any other F! that week. For ex: F! is at 8:00 with a 9:00 close on all the nights except for the late EMH and they schedule F! for 9:00 or 9:30. If I were an offsite guest, I'd choose that night to do HS and F! because it gives me an extra hour of park time. I don't know if that ever happens, but if it did, I would factor that into my decision.
