Do You Have to Have a Credit Card

What is the difference between using the KTTW card and a debit/credit card in order to monitor money spent? If you are using debit/credit card you still have to log into your banks website vs. KTTW asking the front desk for a report. Am I missing something?

Being from the UK most debit and credit cards make a charge for every foreign currency transaction so it is much better for us to put it on the KTTW card and then only pay one transaction fee.

A credit card is not required to check into any Disney resort, DVC or not. It is optional.

This is correct but just a heads up my DD went down - stayed on my points with a friend and at check in at BWV they INSISTED she leave a credit card. She told them she did not want charging to her room and again they told her she needed to leave a debit or credit card. She does have a credit card - which she left thinking she had to. I assured her she did not have to leave it and to ask for a manager next time if they say she has to. She did a split stay and while checking into BLT they asked her if she would like to leave a credit card for charging, she said no and it was fine.

For other DVC parents who may want to know what the options are - My daughter stayed at Aulani on my points and she did not (at the time) have a credit card. Following a suggestion from Member Services, I did online check-in and put in my credit card number. At checkout, my daughter paid room charges and Hawaii hotel tax with gift cards. She did have to stop them from putting charges on my card as they assumed that payment would be made with the card number on file. It worked out great for both of us.
