Do you have other people take your pictures?

It seems everytime we are on vacation all the pictures have on one of us in them! Only one or two photos have both of us in them and we would ask a stranger to take our photo.

Will CM's take your photo with your own camera or do they only take the ones you have to pay for? Do you normally ask other people to take you picture often or just leave one person in your party out of the photo?

Hi

Since there is only the two of us we end up asking for help. :) The CM's have never had a problem with taking pics w/ our camera. I've met some really nice people this way too, if I ask a guest that's around to take ours I try to always to offer to take a group pic of them too. I also try to just go up to someone if I see they're left out of a pic w/ their group and offer to take it, just kind of fun. :)

Have fun!

I'm sure most CMs and park-goers would be kind enough to take your photo... esp if you're visiting a character.

Its amazing how mant people would offer to take pictures for us when they would see me or dh taking photos of the rest of the group. they would always offer so we could all be in the picture. And the CMs are great about it too.

We've had lots of luck with people offering to take our photos w/o us having to even ask! :)

But.. there was that one nice lady who asked and we were really excited about getting the film developed... When we did, we noticed that she must not have been able to see through the veiwfinder very well! LOL She got half of us, but more of the ground! LOL Oh well! :) At least she tried!

This has been our experience also!! I have been asked many times to take pics of groups/couples. They probably see me snapping away and figure I must know what I'm doing!!! :earboy2: I don't mind doing it at all, it makes me feel good!! :goodvibes

We rarely ask others to take our picture (simply because we don't mind that just one of us is in it, and we just buy a few of the PhotoPass pix of all of us...) But, we always have people OFFER to take our picture without us even asking! Some people can be so friendly! :goodvibes And we gladly take their offer and then we offer to take one for them. It's nice. :sunny:

Most CM's are happy to help from what I noticed. Most people would assist too. Never hurts to ask.

Since it's been me, my DH, & 3 little kids, I always appreciated when someone offered to take our picture so it would be all 5 of us together...

When I see a group taking picture in WDW I always offer to take their picture because I know it has meant alot to us.

I tell my DH when I retire I am going to just walk around MK offering to take pictures for people & spread some pixie dust... :wizard: That would be my "dream job". (um Disney won't pay me for that right???oh well!)

I often do it in the opposite order than has been discussed above. I'll see a couple or family and offer to take their picture. After that, one of them invariably offers to do the same for me. And by the way, I offer even when I don't have any interest in them doing the same for me, so I'm not totally mercenary.

Sometimes I have asked if someone would mind to take our picture, and if someone offers, I always take them up on it, then offer to take a picture of their group with their camera. If I see someone taking a pic of just one other person, or obviously the rest of their family, I usually offer to take it so they can be in it. I have asked the park photographers to take one with ours too, and they've always done it without saying anything.

I don't remember what cartoon it was, maybe tinytoon adventures but when I was younger I saw an episode where a family went on a vacation, and had someone take their picture, and he just ran off with the camera.

SO I HAVE THE FEAR! :)

The CM's will always take a picture if you ask even if they are also photographers. We had wonderful pictures with sorcerer mickey from the photographer, he offered to use our camera after he had used his.

My dh is a "picture taker offerer" he really gets a kick out of helping people get great group pictures. Any time he notices a dad or mom taking a picture of the rest of the family or a gentleman taking a picture of a woman or vise versa he will offer to take one.

I had some solo time during our last WDW trip as dh was in meetings and I did this myself, it was fun and I got back as much or more than I 'gave"! It seemed as I was casually strolling the WS I noticed more families and couples taking pictures. Since I was alone (missing my dd's) it was nice to stop and help out a few people. It was easier too as I was just chilling anyway.

OTOH I met some very nice people and ended up running into most of the at other points during the day.

::yes:: This is usually what we tend to do too. And as you said, even if you aren't wanting them to take a picture of you, it's a nice way to spread some magic!

My dh is a magnet for people who need pictures taken. I swear, we get stopped a dozen times a day. I seem to attract people who need directions. We must look innocent!

Dh has no trouble asking people to take our picture - and we've never had anyone steal our camera or refuse, or be anything but perfectly friendly.

National Lampoon's European Vacation! :rotfl:
The Griswold's are in front of a water fountain in Paris I think, and they ask a man to take their pic with that big ole dinosaur camcorder. They take their shoes off, get into the fountain, and the guy runs off with the camera. The tape that is in the camera has some naughty stuff on it!

One of my favorite movies! :teeth:

I always seem to get asked to take photos. I have no idea why, it's not like I look competent or anything!! I'm always happy to do it, in fact I have been known to offer!!

Don't forget about PhotoPass - you can be in all the pictures together! :earsboy:
