Yes....when hiking in the desert looking for snakes hours upon hours, I have to use vaseline between my thighs to prevent skin rash and rubbing. The contents of the vaseline eventually eat away at my boxer shorts and they fall apart. as does happen to many PCT hikers in the 70s and 80s when bike shorts were not invented and by the time they arrived at the next supply drop on the trail...there underwear, being boxers, briefs or panties....all worn out and tied to the frames of their backpacks when walking out of the resupply area for the next length of grueling hiking.. Badge of courage they be.... now science has made far to easy to dress for a walk in the woods.
