Do You Have Comfort Films?

MY goto's are
Arsenic and Old Lace
Let It ride
Harry Potters
Harvey
and I almost always watch Erin Brocovich when its on.
It might be for her outfits but I think its more for Albert Finney which I believe is the truth though it troubles me a little.
I mean I don't mind the outfits.
Oh and any Abbot and Costello movie always makes me feel better

I don’t have a list, but looking over the responses an old old movie came to mind. I remember momma.

Hallmark Christmas movies at any time of year! (Not any Christmas movie, I have some favorites!)
A few other hallmark movies
Specific movies I enjoy are Mama Mia, Pretty Woman, Hitch, and Phantom of the Opera,

I gravitate to musicals... Grease, Music Man, Greatest Showman, Singing in the Rain, Hello Dolly...

I'll also watch Fifth Element or Back to the Future. Or Disney animated movies... Moana has become a favorite, and love Sleeping Beauty and Little Mermaid.

Anything that’s thrillingly cinematic, standard-bearing. So yes, something like Requiem for a Dream is a comfort film for me.

Oh my goddddd howwwww 😂 that was a one and done for me!

I guess I can't criticize too much. When I was younger I had Donnie Darko and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless mind as my comfort movies.

Yes - I have many
Some of my favorites….

When Harry Met Sally
Sleepless in Seattle
4 Four Weddings and a Funeral
Notting Hill
City Slickers
and more….

These are not my favorite movies of all time, just movies that are like a big comfy sweatshirt

She’s Got Mail, The Ugly Dachshund, and Shawshank Redemption are ones I can always watch on repeat!

Stumbled over one of mine on TV last nite: Please Don't Eat the Daisies. I'm not a huge Doris Day fan, but David Niven has always been one of my favorite actors, and he's so funny in that role. (Watching him play the helpless Dad was especially ironic, because IRL he had been a very competent single father to 2 young boys after his first wife died young.)
