Hello - we usually only eat at TS restaurants when we are in WDW. I am (like most DISer's I think) a planaholic so the norm would be a daily itinerary with ADR for everyday, but since it's only myself and my oldest DD this trip we thought we would throw caution to the wind and fly by the seat of our pants;) We are light eaters and are leaning toward sticking with CS. I have checked out the menus on Deb's site and have come up with the following options (guess I'm still planning a bit) and would love to know about your experience if you have dined at any of them.

MGM

Flatbread Grill
Herbie's Drive-In

Epcot

Sunshine Seasons
Tangierine Cafe
Tea Stand
Yakitori House
Yorkshire County Fish Shop
Kringla Bakery Cafe

Magic Kingdon

Cosmic Ray's
Pinocchio Village Haus
Tomorrowland Terrace Noodle Station
Columbia Harbour House

DTD

Wolfgang Puck Express
Bongos Cuban Cafe
Earl of Sandwich

Saratoga

Artist's Palette - Lunch (2/05)

I greatly appreciate your opinions - thanks!

For what it's worth, here's the ones I've had experience with and a couple more thrown in:

MGM - we like the Commissary best for variety and service. We get everything from the Cuban Sandwich to the Fish to the Tabouleh (sp)

Epcot - Sunshine & Kringla are both good, as are the CS in Morocco, & Mexico.

Magic Kingdom - All of those listed are good, but we love, love, love Columbia Harbor House (especially the vegetarian chili & clam chowder).

DTD - We got several of the appetizers and split them at Planet Hollywood and enjoyed that. And, of course Wolfgang's is always good (in our experience).

Enjoy your trip!

I've eaten at the following CS and here's what I thought:

Sunshine Seasons - brkfst was good, standard choices. lunch, had the chinese, not authentic, a bit salty.

Yorkshire County Fish Shop - greasy

Cosmic Ray's - DH had the chicken/rib combo, loved it, I had the bacon burger with multiple toppings from the toppings bar, it was okay

Wolfgang Puck Express - DH had the pizza, no complaints, I had the asian chicken salad, too much cabbage  , I expected some lettuce. hmph.

Earl of Sandwich - gets a lot of rave reviews, I am not sure why I had a salad which was good, cobb I think, DH had the hawaiian BBQ sandwich, thought it was just ok.

I really like Pinnochio's Village Haus, especially the Figaro fries.

Columbia House - haven't had a bad meal there yet, since it opened.

I'm not fond of the Yorkshire Fish and Chips - just a lot blander than I care for, even with malt vinegar on them.

Cosmic Ray's is always good for hamburgers and salads.

Tomorrowland Noodle Station - almost never open these days!

I like the Kringla for desserts, but the lunch plates are pretty skimpy. I much prefer the Patisserie in France.

I have marked the one's we like!

I really like Pinnochio's Village Haus, especially the Figaro fries.

This is a must for every trip. I like their salad and the figaro fries (w/out L&T). We either eat here or Pecos Bill.

Flatbread Grill~ The bbq pulled pork sandwich was great.

Earl of Sandwich~ The original 1762 is my favorite. During xmas when we were there they had a great holiday sandwich (turkey, dressing, cranberry sauce, mmmmmmgood!!!!!). This is another must do on our list of places to eat.

Sunshine Seasons (we like the deserts here alot as well as the chinese food) Tangerine Cafe ( I shared a plate w/ dd6 the first time we ate there and she had eat pretty much everything off of the plate and was asking for more) Yakatori House is good for a light lunch we enjoyed it. Yorkshire County fish shop we like to grab a bit here during EMH at the end of the night we get a couple of plates and share two plates between 4 adults and 1child(if shes awake).

Cosmic Rays is very good, wide selection. Pinocchio Village Haus is also good. We also like the Commissary in MGM and Peco's Bill in MK.

Columbia Harbour House is so good I've never really tried anywhere in MK (except Main Street Bakery!) The tuna sandwich ("Anchors Aweigh") is my favorite.

I could eat lunch at Earl of Sandwich five days a week. Love it!

Sunshine Seasons - party of 6 adults enjoyed this
Kringla Bakery Cafe - great almond frosted pretzels and school bread

Cosmic Ray's - not a bad choice if you are looking for something other than burgers (I prefer Pecos Bill's for burgers)
Columbia Harbour House- good food- most of our party had chicken or fish and really enjoyed it

Wolfgang Puck Express - I have never had a breakfast or dinner here that wasn't excellent
Earl of Sandwich - Good sandwiches, didn't love their breakfast fare

Magic Kingdon

Tomorrowland Terrace Noodle Station
Columbia Harbour House

I can comment on all but one:

Cosmic Ray's - we really enjoyed our meal here. DH, DD (6), DS (9) and I split two Meteor Meals (Bacon Double Cheeseburger) and had plenty to eat. I loved the toppings on the bar (sauteed mushrooms and onions, especially). We'd definitely dine here again.

Pinocchio Village Haus - This was just OK - We had two sandwiches and one kids macaroni among the 4 of us. I remember one sandwich was Italian. Can't remember the other. The food was ho hum. Not bad, but not especially good either. The kids did enjoy sitting where they could see the boats from iasw and waving.

Columbia Harbor House - we enjoyed this meal as well. We split a couple of baskets between us (I think we got three this time). The fish and chicken were fine -- not exceptionally good, but it IS just fried fish and chicken. We'd dine here again without hesitation.

Epcot

Sunshine Seasons We order the caesar salad, soup and strawberry shortcake and share it, all is very good!

Tangierine Cafe We love the rotisserie chicken and yellow rice and the meatball platter is very good. Another favorite is the olive salad

Tea Stand Just tried this a few weeks ago, DH had the mango frozen tea (it was awesome) and I had the Peach Tea Schnapps (omigod these are addicting!)

Yakitori House GROSS! Dark thigh meat...blech!

Kringla Bakery Cafe The school bread is very good, the lefse is gross, the rice cream and the sweet pretzels are awesome!

Magic Kingdom

Cosmic Ray's We love this place, great BBQ, rotisserie chicken and caesar salad

Pinocchio Village Haus Pizza is gross, the deli sandwiches are good and the fries were awesome!

Tomorrowland Terrace Noodle Station The one time we tried it was the last, this was the worst food I have ever had anywhere...GROSS! We had the chicken noodle bowl and the beef rice bowl, after one bite of each we tossed them. The ice teas are delicious and the egg rolls and potstickers are good.

DTD

Wolfgang Puck Express Awesome pizza, caesar salad, the butternut squash soup was delicious but very rich. My favorite is the pulled chicken salad pesto sandwich and the fresh mango ice tea. Large portions for a reasonable price.

Earl of Sandwich Not impressed at all, it is like Subway to me....

Sunshine Seasons- Delicious and lots of variety
Tangerine Cafe- Also delicious, something different
Kringla- Bakery=Yum!
Pinocchios- Standard fare, good, cute atomosphere. Get a window seat and wave to the Small World riders. This is a family tradition for us.
Wolfgang-Awesome, but I always get the same thing (bbq chicken quesadillas) bc I love them! Good creme brulee, too!
But, if you are in DTD and want to finish up with an even healthier treat ;), go get a fried snickers bar!

Thanks everyone, it sounds like there are enough good options that we won't starve; plus our wait-list came in for a one bedroom so we can have a few groceries delivered also.

Tea Stand Just tried this a few weeks ago, DH had the mango frozen tea (it was awesome) and I had the Peach Tea Schnapps (omigod these are addicting!)

Do they both have alcohol? They sound interesting.

Thanks everyone!:wave2:

The mango one did not have any alchohol. There is a regular peach oolong iced tea but I got the frozen Peach Schnapps Ice Tea Slush...it was not overly alcoholic tasting but it was amazing

Epcot
Sunshine Seasons

Magic Kingdon

Cosmic Ray's
Pinocchio Village Haus
Columbia Harbour House

I can really only answer for these few...
Sunshine Seasons...just something I have to be in the mood for. And I have found this to be a very busy place.
Comic Rays has a great BBQ ribs and chicken combo that is wonderful. And very large portaion sized. We bought 2 of them for 4 people and were plenty full.
Pinocchio...it use to be burgers and stuff years ago but have changed it over to lighter options since the last time we ate there, but I like the view over looking IASW...try to grab a table there.
Columbia Harbour House...It seems like this place has a little less crowds. We never have a long wait and can always find a table.

Columbia Harbor House is my fav CS at MK. Tangerine Cafe is probably my fav CS in all of WDW. We split the lamb & chicken combo shawarma (SP?) platter and get extra bread for all that hummus they give you. I freakin love that place. It's so different, but not so much so that it's a turn-off. Really great flavors, rarely crowded and easy to get a table.

I have checked out the menus on Deb's site and have come up with the following options (guess I'm still planning a bit) and would love to know about your experience if you have dined at any of them.

MGM

Flatbread Grill: Haven't tried it yet, but I've always been intrigued. The seating is covered, and there always seems to be a breeze running through this area (it's near the HISTK playarea). There's also a place to get beer right next to this, in case you want an adult beverage.
Herbie's Drive-In: This isn't really a restaurant. It's just one of the stands in the food court area. The only thing I've gotten in that area is the turkey leg, which is your standard Disney turkey leg. Seating is all open, and can be hard to find.

Epcot

Sunshine Seasons: There's a lot of variety here. I've had the chinese, one of the soups, and one of the sandwiches. They also offer some good looking desserts (never ate one though). It can get very congested, and crossing the Soarin traffic pattern to find a table can be a scary thing!
Tangierine Cafe: I've never eaten here (plan to in Sept), but I've gotten ice water there several times. The food looks and smells outstanding. The platters look like a lot of food for the money. I have had the baklava (F&W festival), and it was EXCELLENT!
Tea Stand
Yakitori House: My family really enoys this. Understand that the teriyaki chicken is dark meat. A lot of people expect the white meat that's grilled, and this is different. My DD loves the miso soup, and the beef dish (I can't remember the name, but I think it's combo number 1). It's got inside seating as well.
Yorkshire County Fish Shop: I like this. It's your standard English fish and chips place, so grease comes standard. You can get just the fish, and it's about $2 cheaper.
Kringla Bakery Cafe: Yummy desserts (rice cream and schoolbread are my faves). My dd liked the smoked salmon sandwich here.

Magic Kingdon

Cosmic Ray's: Something more than burgers. I like the rotisserie chicken.
Pinocchio Village Haus: Haven't tried it.
Tomorrowland Terrace Noodle Station: This is often closed, so don't set your heart on it. I had a good salad there (hard to mess that up), and my kids shared a noodle dish. It was better than the noodles we had at the ABC commissary, but it wasn't anything great.
Columbia Harbour House

DTD

Wolfgang Puck Express
Bongos Cuban Cafe
Earl of Sandwich

Saratoga

Artist's Palette - Lunch (2/05) This isn't your standard resort food court. I don't think they have a deep fryer, so my DD wasn't able to get her standard cheese fries. They had chips with the chicken strips instead. I enjoyed the rotisserie chicken (that tends to be my standard choice), and my DS liked the cheese flatbread. They also have soup of the day. It can get congested, but shouldn't be too bad for lunch. You order the food, then pay while they are getting it ready.

I greatly appreciate your opinions - thanks!

Alice

My comments are included. If I didn't comment, I haven't eaten there.

Cosmic rays rocks the best counter service we had except for the earl of sandwich the best sandwishes we had and we had a table outside and ther was entermainment so the kids were so entertained!! The village house was good however you MUST go EARLY!!!! about 11-11:15 so you dont fight for a table!!! There is a great view of small world and you can geta window seat if you get there before the crowd please trust me on this one GO EARLY!!

We go to Cosmic Ray's every time. It's not wonderful, but still pretty good for CS and I enjoy the atmosphere here. Also, lines seem to move pretty quickly (or at least IMO). I LOVE the Earl of Sandwich! It's probably one of my fave CS restaurants. The meatball sub is yummy!!!
